Al Faisaliah Mall: Al Faisaliah is an upscale shopping establishment located in the Al Faisaliah complex in the Olaya district. It contains a variety of shops, most emphasizing women’s fashion as well as coffee shops and food establishments.
Riyadh Gallery: This mall located at the end of the King Fahad Road and it's a one-stop complete mall. It houses three department stores; Debenhams, Centrepoint, and Citymax. It also has a famous beauty shop, Sephora. The coffee shops are rightfully (and tastefully) placed in the nooks of this mall garden. The lack of in-house branches of popular restaurants is compensated with a brightly-lit, colorful food court with interesting eating stalls that we like.
Al Mamlaka: One of the most prominent malls in the Middle East, this upscale shopping center boasts over 160 stores and has a whole floor dedicated only to women to ensure privacy.
Sahara Mall: The Sahara Mall is among the largest malls in Riyadh. Most stores specialize in women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, make-up and perfumes. And typical of large malls, this one also has a Safeway (Tamimi) grocery store connected within the mall.
Royal Mall: Royal Mall is a smaller mall specializing in formal dresses for women. It also boasts an indoor ice-skating rink. The Royal Mall is located off of King Fahad Road.
Al Owais (Kuwaiti Souk): The “Kuwaiti souk” is among the oldest souks in Riyadh and located in Mohamadiyah, off of King Fahad road. One must wander in and out of the many small shops and narrow alleyways. Everything is negotiable. The Kuwaiti souk contains a little bit of everything from household goods, carpets, furniture to abayas, thobes, shoes and dresses as well as gold and spices and food items.
Azizia Mall: The Azizia mall is located off of King Fahad road heading outside of the city. It is a smaller mall and the majority of shops are for women. It also has a Panda grocery story and is located in the same vicinity as the headquarters of Saudi Airlines.
The Janadriyah Festival takes place in the al Janadriyah region of Riyadh and is considered the national festival of heritage and culture. It is held annually usually during the months of March or April. The festival showcases crafts from across the Kingdom and also includes displays of cuisine, dances and folklore.
Annual King's Cup Camel Race
The Annual King's Cup Camel Race is held once a year and there are more than 2000 riders who participate in race. This race is considered special as most of the competitors are young boys who have been trained in the art of camel riding since childhood.
