Not only does The Carlyle offer an ideal location and some of the most spectacular venues for small weddings in NYC; it also provides the backdrop for memorable moments and special touches that surround and distinguish one's wedding celebration.
Yes, we will entertain your proposal...
First comes love, then comes marriage. In between comes the proposal, an event in itself at The Carlyle, New York City's legendary 1930s monument to Upper East Side elegance. Once, a suitor brought his beloved to Bemelmans Bar for drinks, where his accomplice, the bartender, suggested that the couple enjoy their next round on the rooftop terrace. Arriving at the so-called terrace, the couple was met with candlelight, rose petals and champagne, where the proposal was unveiled.
But I can't go without my Tiara...
At another memorable wedding held at The Carlyle, the theme centered around Madeline's Tea. The bride's petite pup, Tiara, was in attendance in the front row. The hotel's wedding team selected a wedding ceremony location that could accommodate this pampered pooch. She passed the night in a special Carlyle dog bed and arrived on the big day sporting a very posh blow-dry.
A rather unexpected appointment...
Recently, a woman was indulging in a moment of respite with a massage at the hotel's luxurious spa. Following her service, the spa attendant escorted her to another suite, supposedly to relax before her next treatment. The ruse was up the moment the door opened to reveal a room full of flowers, bubbling champagne and a beau waiting to present his intimate wedding proposal.
