BIO: Managing Director Hans-Peter Leitzke
In May 2007, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' newly appointed Managing Director, Mr. Hans-Peter Leitzke assumed responsibility for the operations of its latest ultra-luxury hotel - Rosewood Corniche in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Leitzke is a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry. He began his career as an apprentice chef and furthered his skills and culinary knowledge by cooking in Michelin-Star restaurants for several years in his native country, Germany. In 1988 he moved to the United States, where he joined Hilton Hotels in Washington as Assistant Restaurant Manager. Holding both front- and back-of-the-house managerial positions, he was personally asked to help oversee the preparation of a number of high-profile state dinners during his tenure there.
Leitzke's contributions to the operation and management of the hotel were recognized in 1995, when he was promoted to Food & Beverage Director at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California, the hosting venue of the Golden Globe Awards.
In 1997, when the opportunity to grow his international career arose, Leitzke joined the Mandarin Oriental in Manila as Food & Beverage Director. From there he garnered invaluable experience in numerous countries such as Indonesia, Bahrain, Egypt, UAE and lastly Russia before joining Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in 2005 as Hotel Manager of the Hotel Al Khozama, A Rosewood Hotel, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
During his tenure at Hotel Al Khozama, Leitzke's innovative management style and his ability to consistently surpass the hotel's business goals further established Al Khozama's reputation as one of the leading hotels in a very competitive market place, making him the perfect fit to lead the opening of Jeddah's only ultra-luxury hotel - Rosewood Corniche.
