Rosewood Hotels and Resorts appoints Bernhard Wimmer as Managing Director of Rosewood Hotel Georgia

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts®, one of the world's most respected ultra-luxury hotel groups, is delighted to announce that Bernhard Wimmer has been appointed Managing Director of Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, Wimmer will oversee all areas of the legendary hotel including 1927, Sense, A Rosewood Spa® and Reflections.

An industry veteran, Wimmer brings more than 15 years of luxury hospitality experience to Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Prior to joining Rosewood, Wimmer spent 10 years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Most recently, he served as general manager of Golden Flower Hotel, a Shangri-La hotel in Xian, China. Prior to that, he held the position of resident manager at Shangri-La Hotel in Qingdao and Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing. While at both hotels, Wimmer oversaw the development of the luxurious Valley Wings, which created additional rooms and dining lounge space for premier guests.
Before joining Shangri-La, Wimmer spent four years with the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, where he held key positions at several different international properties. Working his way up the chain, he first served as rooms manager of The Ritz Carlton in Dubai, before moving to Kuala Lumpur to become executive assistant manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur. In 2003, Wimmer moved to the United States to serve as the executive assistant manager of The Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Ray and The Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena.
When not traveling the globe, he enjoys playing the Cello and horseback riding. Wimmer currently resides in Vancouver.
