Rose Buds for Children

Rose Buds® is a program designed to provide our youngest guests with special services, amenities and convenience items designed just for them. From kids' menus to special events and fun activities, we welcome children and families at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and look forward to hosting your next family vacation. Jumbie is Antiguan colloquial word meaning playful, mischievous spirit which is befitting this warm and friendly Caribbean island. It's a wonderful place for children of all ages to explore the wildlife and natural surroundings.

Daily Necessities: A hat, sunscreen, insect repellant and water are recommended for children spending the day in the sun.

Beaches & Boats: Watersports, snorkeling and swimming requires parental supervision.

Designated Dining: Children's menus are offered at all restaurants and for in-room dining.

Nannies & Babysitting: Jumby Bay offers guests the ultimate amenity in childcare, personal nanny service. The service provides adult guests the freedom to enjoy activities such as massage, yoga, tennis or a dinner for two while comfortably assured that their children are under the experienced care of one of the resort's nannies. To meet your family's requirements, 24-hour notice is recommended. Rates are approximately $20 per hour for up to two related children for a minimum of three hours. Daily and weekly rates are available upon request.

Family Fun: Enjoy Jumby Bay's two crystal clear swimming pools or the spectacular beaches that surround the resort. Watersports available for your complimentary enjoyment include sailing, snorkeling, sailboarding and kayaking. You may also enjoy cycling around the property or a game of croquet on the lawn. During select times of the year, Jumby Bay offers a turtle hatching expedition for the whole family. There are plenty of fun activities for you to enjoy.

Hawksbill Turtle Program: The resort is home to the ongoing Hawksbill Turtle Program (2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the program), a privately-funded research project sponsored by island residents and under direction of the University of Georgia. Each year, Hawksbills return to nest on the resort's Pasture Bay Beach, a protected nesting area that has been drawing the now-endangered sea turtles since the age of the dinosaurs. It's a one-of-a-kind opportunity, especially for kids, on island who can sign up for "turtle watch" from June through November to play an active role in the program, the longest running scientific study of its kind.

Rose Buds Camp Jumby: Families will enjoy the Camp Jumby program, for 3-12 year olds. With three different pavilions catering to Camp Jumby there are a host of possibilities for outdoor excitement and creative expression, including Little Chefs, Wildlife & Ocean Adventures, Discover Science, Pirates of the Caribbean, Dance & Sing, Day at the Beach and much more. There are also children's amenities galore, Kids' Night Out activities and nanny services for children – and their parents, who may want a little down time for fun in the sun.
