BIO: Managing Director Martein van Wagenberg

Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort appointed Martein van Wagenberg, a highly accomplished hotelier with worldwide experience in operating leading luxury properties, Managing Director of the Five-Diamond resort in June 2011. Mr. van Wagenberg, who comes to Las Ventanas with more than 26 years of hospitality experience, has been part of the Rosewood family since October 2004 as managing director of Rosewood Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.

Historic Little Dix, originally developed in 1964 by Laurance Rockefeller, enjoyed worldwide acclaim for its exceptional service and guest experience during the years Mr. van Wagenberg was managing director. In 2010, it was named #1 Caribbean Destination by Harper's Hideaway Report. Prior to Little Dix, for eight years he was general manager of Grace Bay Club in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, where he developed the young property into an internationally recognized Five-Star resort. He began his career in Europe, holding management positions of increasing responsibility at The Hyatt in Nice, France, The Grosvenor House and Hyde Park Hotel in London and The Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. He was educated at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht, Netherlands and the premier U.S. hotelier program at Cornell University in New York.
