Las Ventanas completed a major enhancement of its spa in 2011, taking its original award-winning facility to new heights and creating one of the most distinctive spas in Mexico. At the newly enhanced spa, guests enjoy exquisite indoor-outdoor treatment rooms with private terraces, duet suites for couples, a serene solarium and new full-service beauty salon. Under the protective canopy of palms, guests are renewed and revitalized with personalized spa and salon programs.
The spa has been re-imagined as an indoor-outdoor experience in a verdant and tranquil setting. This was achieved by planting 45 areca and date palms, whose spreading fronds create a dense, green canopy, and by using thatched palapas and latilla screens for shade and walls of vegetation for privacy.
The spa’s look and décor remain true to the original style of the resort, including hand-troweled exterior walls in a desert-sand color, wood and wrought-iron furniture in earthy pastels, and special touches including a hand-crafted salon floor created by Mexican artisans. The resort’s core design motif – curving walls and spaces – flows through the spa and salon. Creating an evocative sense of arrival is the new spa lobby with its rock fountain, comfortable seating areas ringed by palm trees and reception desk – all under a large palapa. The treatment cabanas, now doubled in number, boast an outdoor shower and a private terrace and garden, allowing guests to enjoy treatments indoors and/or outdoors. The two new cabanas for couples also feature an outdoor, jetted tub for two.
A serene, circular solarium offers comfortable lounge chairs where guests, under the shade of a palapa, enjoy pre- and post-treatment relaxation to the beautiful harmonic tones of crystal bowls. Remodeled, separate men and women’s dressing areas offer digital lockers, luxuriously appointed vanities, saunas, hot and cold hydrotherapy pools and steam rooms.
