Rosewood Mayakoba is a luxury retreat situated along a mile of white-sand beach on the Riviera Maya in Mexico just north of Playa del Carmen. The luxury resort covers many small islands surrounded by a mangrove jungle at the heart of the ecological enclave of Mayakoba. Using indigenous materials such as Yucatán limestone and renewable woods, the design emphasizes chic simplicity. Situated on a protected stretch of the Yucatán Peninsula, Rosewood Mayakoba is four miles north of the charming coastal town of Playa del Carmen. It is 42 miles south of the Cancún International Airport and easily accessible by private jet. With stunning weather and tropical warmth, the winter months from December to March are the peak season. Another beautiful time to visit is late spring into June, when the weather is excellent, with very low humidity and rainfall.
Cancún International Airport is 42 miles from the resort. A chauffeured car will be available for airport pick-up at an extra change, and independent car services and rentals are also offered at the airport. The property is easily accessible by jet. Within the resort, guests may explore by foot, resort shuttle, golf cart or boat. The suites, spa, restaurants, beaches, and golf course are accessible by the resort's luxury boats.
There are 128 suites located on either the beachfront or clear lagoons. The signature room categories include eight over-the-water island and lagoonview suites and deluxe oceanview duplex suites offering panoramic views of the Caribbean. Wooden lattices and hiding glass doors give the accommodations an airy ambiance; exterior suite features include private plunge pools, outdoor garden showers and rooftop decks. The spa is designed as a retreat-within-a-retreat. Guests at this Mexico spa vacation destination, cross a bridge, called the Puente del Balneario, to reach the private spa island. The spa's interior spaces open to gentle breezes and stunning natural environment of the jungle. Comprising 17,000 sq. ft., the spa space includes 12 treatment rooms and eight island suites, designed for those guests who desire a pure wellness experience. The spa menu features therapeutic treatments using indigenous ingredients made from local plants such as aloe and agave cactus. Spa facilities, which are separate for men and women, include therapeutic plunge pools, steam grottos, saunas and experiential showers. Outside, the spa has a meditation platform, pool and relaxation deck.
There are three meeting rooms, comprising 2615 sq. ft. of interior space. Palma Real (1313 sq. ft.), Palma Areca (807 sq. ft.) and Palma Kuka (495 sq. ft.) as well as the Foyer Las Palmas area offering elegant outdoor space for events of all types. In addition, the main restaurant, Casa del Lago, offers a private dining room, Avicenia, that accommodates approximately 16 persons banquet-style.
