Rosewood Mayakoba Announces New Executive Chef

RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO - Rosewood Mayakoba has named Alejandro Rojas as its new executive chef, overseeing all of the resort's F&B outlets: Casa del Lago, Punta Bonita and Agave Azul Tequila Library. Rojas, a native of Chile, brings more than 15 years of professional experience to Rosewood Mayakoba, including roles as Executive Chef at the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya and Executive Chef at Hotel Esencia, a member of Small Luxury Hotels. Prior to that, Rojas held various professional culinary roles in Houston, TX where he graduated from the Art Institute of Houston with a Culinary Arts Degree.
"I’m looking forward to being part of this culinary team and being able to bring new ideas, methods and concepts to an already fabulous group of cooks and chefs," Rojas stated. As Executive Chef, Rojas' responsibilities include menu development, hiring, cost control, budgeting, staffing and all operations of Casa del Lago, Punta Bonita and Agave Azul.
