Rosewood Mayakoba Ranked No. 1 Foreign Golf Resort
Apr. 01, 2011
Readers of Condé Nast Traveler vote Rosewood Mayakoba at the top of the list
RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO - Condé Nast Traveler readers voted Rosewood Mayakoba as the number one foreign golf resort in its 15th annual golf poll as published in the April 2011 issue. “Rosewood Mayakoba provides a haven of personalized service and luxury accommodations for the discerning golfer,” said Pablo Graf, regional vice president and managing director of Rosewood Mayakoba. “Our guests enjoy the very best both on and off the course with a well-rounded experience of world class golf, decadent dining, indulgent spa services and the finest in accommodations.”
According to the Condé Nast rankings, Rosewood Mayakoba is first overall in the ‘Foreign Golf Resorts’ category, receiving the highest marks amongst all international resorts in the categories of rooms, service and food/dining. Additionally, it received a perfect 100 for course design and access as well as for golf staff and services and was the only resort to receive higher than a 92 (out of 100) in all nine ranked categories with an overall score of 96.0.
Golf enthusiasts, pros and novices alike, can enjoy the signature Greg Norman 7,000-yard, 18-hole course, El Camaleón, during their stay at Rosewood Mayakoba. Named for its diverse layout and varied landscape, El Camaleón features two holes just steps from the Caribbean Sea. It was the first golf course to host an official PGA TOUR event in Mexico, the “Mayakoba Golf Classic,” and the first official PGA TOUR event ever held outside of the United States or Canada. This year the PGA event was won by Johnson Wagner with past winners including Cameron Beckman, Wilson Holds, Brian Gay and Fred Funk.
