SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - Rosewood San Miguel de Allende has earned the distinguished accolade, “Best Hotel in Mexico” in Condé Nast Traveler’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards, released in the November 2012 issue. The luxury resort was also designated #18 on the “Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World” list. The double honor is a reflection of Rosewood San Miguel de Allende’s exceptional service, culinary offerings, spa experience and beautifully appointed accommodations. The coveted Readers’ Choice Awards are a unique and trusted source of travel advice globally and reflect the combined opinions of 46,476 discerning Condé Nast Traveler readers to rank the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels and resorts worldwide.
“We are extremely honored to be recognized in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards as the best hotel in Mexico, and a top hotel worldwide,” said Rosewood San Miguel de Allende’s Managing Director Alfredo Renteria. “We continue to be humbled by our loyal guests and their love for our property. It is our privilege to provide new and returning guests with the ultimate San Miguel experience.”
Located in the heart of historic San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Rosewood San Miguel de Allende opened in early 2011, presenting an entirely new level of sophisticated yet quiet elegance to the town. The property features 67 impressive guest rooms with luxurious amenities such as fireplaces, balconies and private outdoor terraces. With respect and reverence for the history, culture and creativity of San Miguel, the resort embraces Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® philosophy and reflects the town’s existing charm, scale and architecture. The resort also features Sense, A Rosewood Spa®, beautiful indoor and outdoor restaurants, and a rooftop lounge with views of La Parroquia.
“The historic town of San Miguel de Allende is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site and reflects the perfect blend of Central Mexico’s rich colonial charm, with a naturally spectacular setting and a vibrant urban culture,” said Renteria. “We accept this prestigious award with a deep appreciation and respect for our surroundings.”
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice survey, begun in 1988, is available through a secure Web site at condenasttraveler.com/vote. This year’s tabulations of 46,476 responses were done by Global Market Insite, Inc., of Boston. The questionnaire contains lists of candidates in various categories (Cities, Hotels, etc.). Individual candidates are judged by relevant criteria for each. Those that receive a required minimum number of responses are deemed eligible for a Readers’ Choice Award. Each candidate is rated, criterion-by-criterion, on a five-point scale: excellent, very good, good, fair, and poor. Those scores, which represent the percentage of excellent and very good ratings, are averaged to calculate the final score.
