Greeted by the property’s luxury car, guests are driven to the vibrant farmers market at the San Francisco Ferry Building where they meet Chef Peter Rudoloph who leads the tour. Guests are introduced to local vendors and farmers, many of whom supply ingredients to Rosewood’s very own Madera restaurant. Following an hour of mingling with the Bay Area’s best farmers, guests can either have lunch with Chef Peter or dine by themselves in the many restaurants the market has to offer.

Harley Farms Picnic Lunch

HARLEY FARMS PICNIC LUNCH

A restored 1910 dairy farm completed with 200 alpine goats on a nine-acre pasture, Harley Farms is just a 30-minute drive from Rosewood Sand Hill. Here, guests get to taste an array of award-winning cheese, including cheverer, fromage blanc, ricotta and feta, as well as expert lessons on the process of cheese-making. Following, guests are treated to a feast of a picnic assembled by Rosewood’s chefs. Incorporating fresh cheeses alongside artisanal breads meats and the finest wines, this is an unforgettable outing that is complemented by the picturesque scenery. Participants receive a special cheese-board as a memento of this experience.

For wine lovers, the property offers tailored tastings that showcase exquisite and unique Californian wines.


This veritable feast is prepared by Executive Chef Peter Rudolph and enjoyed in the intimate setting of the Birch Garden. A five-course seasonal tasting dinner menu is paired with the finest wines California has to offer. Fully customizable, guests will be contacted by the chef in advance to discuss their tastes and preferences. A truly immersive dining experience, Chef Peter will convey his cooking philosophy throughout the meal, while the sommelier will compile a study on the ingredients and the wine pairing criteria for the menu.
