A FARMERS MARKET TOUR

at the San Francisco Ferry Building

Guests will be picked up in a luxury car from the property to the vibrant farmers market at the San Francisco Ferry Building. Upon arrival, guests will meet with Chef Peter Rudolph who will tour and introduce them to his local vendors and farmers. Chef Peter will describe the variety of local produce that we use in our own menus at Madera.

After an hour of mingling with the Bay Area’s finest farmers, guests can either eat lunch with Chef Peter or dine by themselves in the many restaurants that the market has to offer. After a leisurely lunch the luxury car transports guests back to the hotel.

This experience can be enjoyed by a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 guests at a time.

HARLEY FARMS PICNIC LUNCH

At Harley Farms, guests will not only get to taste award winning chevre, fromageblanc, ricotta, and feta cheese, but also enjoy a lesson on the process of making these cheeses from experts. Harley Farms is a restored 1910 dairy farm, with 200 alpine goats on a nine-acre pasture in Pescadero, Ca - just a 45-minute drive from our property. 

After enjoying a few hours on the farm, guests will experience a picnic assembled by our chef in Harley Farms’ beautiful surroundings. The meal will incorporate the fresh cheeses in various ways served alongside artisanal breads, meats and finest wine. Guests receive a special cheeseboard as a memento of their experience.

Exquisite, personalized dining experiences in exclusive locations combine seasonal ingredients, fine wine and top-tier culinary skills.

THE CALIFORNIA EXPERIENCE

A custom-created five-course seasonal tasting dinner menu prepared by our Executive Chef Peter Rudolph and paired with the finest wines California has to offer. The California bespoke dining experience is enjoyed in the intimate setting on property in our abundant Birch Garden. 

Guests will be contacted by the chef to discuss their tastes and preferences for food and wine. Our chef will convey the philosophy of how he procures his ingredients and what is in season while our sommelier will compile a study on the particular wines and the paring criteria for the menu.

This experience can be enjoyed by a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 10 guests at a time.

THE WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE

Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains a 25-minute drive from the hotel, one finds the award-winning Ridge Winery. Guests will be accompanied by one of Rosewood’s sommelier team to enjoy an exquisite wine tasting in a gorgeous setting followed by a high class picnic with wine pairings overlooking the bay.

This experience can be enjoyed by a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 guests at a time.
