once upon a wedding...
Caneel Bay - USVI
Perfection is always in season...
Ceremonies tend to fall beautifully into place in the serene, breathtaking surroundings of Caneel Bay, Rosewood's secluded Caribbean resort nestled on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. One bride dreamed of having a rare tropical flower's petals scattered down the isle, but was told the flower was unavailable. On the wedding day, however, our wedding coordinator spotted the very tropical beauty in a local garden, procured the exotic blossoms and scattered them on the isle, just in time to bring the bride to tears as her procession began.
Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek - Dallas
A couple's best friends...
Fit for any occasion from formal to fun, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas knows how to please a bride and groom. One couple, dog lovers both, held a wedding reception in which tea rose-covered statues of his and her four-legged friends stood in attendance. Along with rose-petal turn down and breakfast the morning after, couples have come to expect extraordinary, personalized services that are a breed apart.
Rosewood Mayakoba - Mexico
By the beautiful sea...
When the setting is Rosewood Mayakoba on the beautiful Playa Del Carmen coast of Mexico, picture-perfect destination weddings are virtually guaranteed. One four-day matrimonial extravaganza included a welcome party, golf, Pilates, pool party and post-reception beach party. With the azure sea as a backdrop the couple exchanged vows on a platform above the ocean. Only the bride, glowing in her Carolina Herrera gown, was capable of stealing the scene.
The Carlyle - New York
Yes, we will entertain your proposal...
First comes love, then comes marriage. In between comes the proposal, an event in itself at The Carlyle, New York City's legendary 1930s monument to East Side elegance. Once, a suitor brought his beloved to Bemelmans Bar for drinks, where his accomplice, the bartender, suggested that the couple enjoy their next round on the rooftop terrace. Arriving at the so-called terrace, the couple was met with candlelight, rose petals and champagne, where the proposal was unveiled.
Las Ventanas al Paraíso - Mexico
A marriage made in Paradise...
The setting was the pure white beach at Rosewood's Las Ventanas in Los Cabos, Mexico. The event was an intimate wedding and reception. All the guests wore white and carried white parasols. A harpist played during the ceremony. After the reception, guests gathered around a bonfire and serenaded the couple with song and guitar. Was it a dream? No. But given the surreal beauty of the surroundings, it was certainly paradise. On earth.
Rosewood Crescent Hotel - Dallas
Sweet, sweet home...
With a Miami bride, a South Carolina groom and Dallas' Rosewood Crescent Hotel as the venue, a Southern Comfort-themed wedding is only natural. Mint juleps and sweet tea were generously served. Silver buckets of pink flip-flops further encouraged the guests' comfort. And, as no comfort exceeds the confections of a Southern cook, each guest received a wrapped box of the groom's grandmother's homemade fudge. A sweet time was had by all.
Al Faisaliah Hotel - Riyadh
From where she sat, perfection...
Sensitivity to international customs and the deft ability to resolve last minute glitches are hallmarks of Rosewood hotels. At Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it was discovered that a Saudi Arabian bride's traditional koosha, the seat from which she reigns over the reception, had not been ordered. Not missing a beat, the Al Faisaliah team quickly covered a comfortable sofa in fabric matching the wedding decorations, averting an embarrassing situation and helping create a lifelong memory for all in attendance.
