Maria Sharapova is a Russian tennis star who has won an astonishing series of titles and awards, including 29 WTA singles titles, four Grand Slam singles titles, a silver medal in women’s singles at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and has been ranked World No. 1 by the WTA on five separate occasions.

A phenomenon in the sports world, Sharapova is as much a celebrity off the court as she is on it. Her beauty, charisma, business savvy and commitment to philanthropic efforts have led to the creation of her own tennis apparel line for Nike; major commercial endorsements; and the opportunity to serve as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP.) Born in the small town of Nyagan, Russia, Sharapova credits her humble beginnings as her motivation for founding her charitable organization, “The Maria Sharapova Foundation,” whose mission is to help children around the world achieve their dreams.

Today, her resume continues to expand with a new stake in the candy industry. Her new premium candy line, cleverly named Sugarpova, reflects the fun, fashionable, sweet side of the international tennis sensation, with a portion of sales donated to her charity. Not one to stand still, Sharapova is always on the lookout for new and exciting adventures.
