Cattle Baron’s Ball
The first Cattle Baron’s Ball took place in 1974, when co-chairs Patti Hunt and Jacque Wynee’s 500 guests raised over $56,000 for cancer research. Today the ball’s 3,000 guests raise tens of millions of dollars each year, making it the world’s largest single-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Held each fall, this is exactly the ball you would expect Sue Ellen Ewing to chair!
Chrystal Charity Ball
The event aims to aid, support and make contributions to children’s charities in Dallas County. Held each December since 1952, The Crystal Charity Balls have raised more than $105 million for over 140 worthy beneficiaries. It’s an elegant evening that is always a treat.
DSO AT&T Gala
In a little over 20 years, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has grown from a 40-person ensemble to a world-class orchestra performing in one of the world’s finest concert halls. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala at the Meyerson Symphony Center is the DSO’s largest single fundraising event. Held every September, it’s a spectacular evening when the Meyerson is filled with amazing music and glamorous gowns.
Two x Two for AIDS and Art
This is an annual contemporary art auction held every October in the Richard Meier-designed Rachofsky House in Dallas, benefiting the Dallas Museum of Art and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. The benefit has a reputation for drawing incredible celebrities including Alan Cumming, Shirley MacLaine and Liza Minnelli. After the auction on the following day, amfAR presents its Award of Excellence for Artistic Contributions to the Fight Against AIDS at an exclusive luncheon at the home of a Dallas art collector – not to miss!
Taking place each fall, Partners Card, the signature fundraiser for The Family Place, has raised over $13 million dollars to help break the cycle of domestic violence in the Dallas community. 100 percent of the proceeds from every $70 Partners Card purchase go directly to The Family Place, Dallas’ largest domestic violence agency. What’s more, Partners Cardholders receive a 20 percent discount at over 750 of the finest stores in town – it’s shopping at a discount for an amazing cause.
TACA Party on the Green at the Mansion
Held each spring at the iconic Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, this event showcases 20 celebrity guest chefs from around the world, including many Dallas favourites. All proceeds support TACA, The Arts Community Alliance, helping to make Dallas one of the nation’s leading cities for the arts.
