Bistrot B Presents French Bistro Comfort Fare to Beijing

Bistrot B introduces a new French bistro dining experience to Beijing, with a focus on popular comfort fare and offering a place where each guest can discover his or her own sense of belonging.

The bustling and energetic Bistrot B is all about superb local ingredients, served at their freshest within a social and relaxed homey ambience.  The heart of the restaurant is a fun, buzzy bistro, with a huge, open island kitchen providing a view of chefs in action over a large wood-fired oven, grills and woks.  

Bistrot B Chef Jarrod Verbiak joins the ranks of Beijing’s most accomplished chefs. He was a protégé of celebrated French chef Daniel Boulud at world famous Daniel in New York – and chosen by the legendary chef to run his Miami venture DB Bistro Moderne.

The daily menu of modern French classics including chicken paillard and pork belly rillons also features Wagyu steak, “oversized” daily roast, salads and chilled soups, charcuterie and artisanal cheese boards, seafood from fresh oysters and “Catch on Ice” to creative twists on prawn cocktail, Dungeness crab and Boston lobster, and classic patisseries and home-made ice cream.

The menu is inspired by the highest quality, freshest seasonal ingredients available locally and flavorful artisanal food products that underline the restaurant’s Beijing provenance. Diners can feast on roast “golden” chicken from Shunyi Farm, goat's cheese from Le Fromager de Pekin, vegetables from Ronking farm, and a dessert specialty, Strawberry Nage, Meringue, Strawberry Ice Cream. The “Roast of The Day” on the weekday lunch menu is unbeatable value for premium slow-cooked meats and seasonal vegetables from Beijing growers.

In addition to the lively ambience of the restaurant, Bistrot B offers warm and engaging venues for whatever mood diners happen to be in. 

Rather than a traditional "restaurant lounge," guests arrive at the intimate Bistrot B Lounge • Bar, with different areas creatively designed for ease and comfort. Guests can enjoy innovative cocktails – such as the Dry Orange-Chocolate Martini, Smoked Caribbean Tea and The Path Finder -- nestled in a space with a soaring 14-meter-high ceiling, and tall windows that frame dramatic Beijing views and let natural light flood in from the foliage-filled outdoor courtyard. Or they can relax solo or with friends in cozy seating around a contemporary fireplace; savor a glass of wine in a quiet alcove; or socialize at a long communal dining table, where many dishes can be ordered for sharing.

Alternatively, a wine degustation and tasting room located on the restaurant’s 2nd floor, cellaring Old World classics and notable New World wines, can accommodate up to 16 for private dining, wine tastings and gatherings with its own kitchen counter, tasting bar and separate reception.

Or in pleasant weather, an outdoor restaurant terrace, with a ‘reach out and touch’ view of the iconic CCTV Tower, is perfect for al fresco dining and after-dinner drinks.

Complementing the bistro concept of friends and families coming together to enjoy a meal, many dishes are designed for sharing and artwork by Inner Mongolian Jiang Shanchun features portrait watercolors from all over China, showing the kaleidoscope of the country’s rich cultural diversity.

Bistrot B has introduced a weekend brunch with Chef Jarrod’s take on traditional fare. Guests are welcomed with the restaurants “Catch on Ice”, a rotating selection of hors d’oeuvres, and home-made charcuterie and cheese. A main course may be selected which includes egg classics, grilled options and Bistrot B’s signature dishes such as the Wagyu Burger, Foie Gras, Black Truffle Aïoli, Comté. Served from noon to 3:30 p.m., the brunch is priced at CNY390 per person with a bakery basket and access to the vast dessert spread.
