Multi-Faceted Mei Lounge Combines the Urban Chic of Manhattan with the Energy of Beijing

March 13, 2018

MEI at Rosewood Beijing is a sophisticated lounge which offers an eclectic nightlife mix for the city’s discerning, fashion-conscious crowd.  The sense of exclusivity begins as visitors ride in the private outdoor elevator up to MEI.  Once the doors slide open, guests can feast on the vibrant city views set against the backdrop of the CCTV Tower, the capital’s most iconic modern building.

MEI’s design is just as unique as the views outside.  A range of influences, from classic gentleman’s club to urban, stripped-back Manhattan loft, give MEI a provocative and unexpected edge.  At MEI, guests choose between three bars: one specializes in whiskey, a cocktail bar serves as the main bar, and a small wine bar offers an impeccable list from both the Old and New Worlds. The highly selective wine list includes Dom Pérignon P3 1971 which can’t be found anywhere else in Beijing, plus many fine wines served by the glass.

The whiskey bar with debonair gentlemen’s club-style atmosphere serves a long list of single malts and blends; it is one of the few places in the capital where connoisseurs can enjoy the very sophisticated single malt Talisker 30 years as well as Town Branch Bourbon.  Guests can choose to sip and savor at the bar or in a classic club leather chair accented with tartan fabrics in one of the elegant areas by the cozy open fireplace.

The main bar showcases a cocktail selection under the expert ministrations of international bar and beverage consultant Giancarlo Mancino.

With capacity for 300, the party can seamlessly spill onto the grand terrace, connecting guests to the energy of the city and providing plenty of room to dance.  The Unique All-Stars six-piece band livens up the night, taking turns with  a DJ who enhances the party vibe, every day except for Sunday.

Exciting nightly offerings include La Bodeguita Mondays with complimentary mojitos for everyone from 9 to 10 p.m. at CNY50 per glass all night long and buy-one-get-one on select bottles of rum. Tuesdays are always merrier at MEI with Tomorrow is Overrated, which includes CNY100 for two tequila-based cocktails and buy-one-get-one on select bottles of tequila. Oyster and champagne lovers delight in Divas & Champagne happening every Wednesday, with buy-one-get-one on bottles of Veuve Clicquot and special prices on oysters.  Ladies are invited to party on Thursdays with the popular Ladies’ Night in the city, including free-flowing sparkling wine and select cocktails for all ladies.  Guests get ready for the work week ahead at the Sunday Supper Club by sipping creative Bloody Mary cocktails, indulging in unlimited pizza and taking advantage of exclusive red wine by the bottle offerings.

MEI is open from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., Sunday to Wednesday, 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., Thursday to Saturday.

The prices are in CNY and include service charge. For reservations, please contact us at
