Above ground, Bermuda is well known for its perfectly kept golf greens, lush gardens and stately homes, yet beneath the surface Bermuda offers an entire world of exploration. Rosewood Bermuda is partnering with Hidden Gems of Bermuda Ltd. to invite adventurous guests on an "insiders" tour of Bermuda.
Guests ranging in age from 10 years old up to adults will enjoy these specially curated tours that take explorers from the beautiful cave systems of the island to historical sites near Hamilton. Participants will receive a Rosewood Bermuda backpack with a boxed lunch, as well as snorkel gear, safety helmet and flashlight to use during the excursion. Guests will have the option to choose specific tours, or reserve all three to explore more of Bermuda.
Monday Expedition: Tom Moore’s Jungle and Blue Hole Hill National Park
The adventure begins at Bermuda's famed Tom Moore's Jungle. The stunning ecology features majestic trees looming over large aqua lagoons, with plenty of birds, lizards, and tropical fish to discover. The property surrounding the jungle features one of Bermuda's oldest homes restored to its original state of British-Bermudian architecture. The highlight of this expedition is a guided descent into one of the world’s most intricate caving systems with formations dating back more than 600,000 years. Put on hardhats and get ready for a guided decent into these beautifully adorned stalactite caverns. Then guests will travel to the Blue Hole Hill National Park to get a breathtaking view of a large sinkhole atop a wooden platform and dare to take the plunge atop the overhanging cliffs surrounding the pool of water!
Wednesday Expedition: St. David's Lighthouse & Cooper's Island
Guests will begin with a trip to St. David's Lighthouse set on historic St. George's, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The limestone light house features a balcony 260 feet above sea level affording guests panoramic views of nearly the entire island. Guests will also learn about the treacherous reef system surrounding Bermuda, as well as its impact on the pirate history of the island. The journey concludes with a trip to nearby Cooper Island home to a nature reserve with secluded beaches explore as well as an excellent observation point built atop the site of the former NASA Space Station.
Friday Expedition: The Southlands & Fort Hamilton
Guests travel to the Southlands Estate set in Warwick Parish on the western end of the island. A Beautiful Banyan tree grove with natural swinging vines make for a truly unique storybook experience. Also known as the tree of eternal life, explorers will learn about the distinct Banyan tree as well as it's natural healing properties. The adventure continues to the outskirts of Pembroke Parish, where Fort Hamilton sits along the outskirts of Hamilton city. Guests will be able to take in panoramic views of the city and Hamilton Harbor.
