From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, festive magic embraces the Sense of Place™ in the Val d’Orcia. From November 27, 2025, to January 7, 2026, the medieval borgo of Castiglion del Bosco lights up to celebrate the upcoming festivities and events that intertwine tradition, taste, and convivial moments wrapped in the distinctive hallmark of Rosewood Hotels: Sense of Place™.
Guests can immerse themselves in the most anticipated time of the year with one-of-a-kind panoramic views of the Val d’Orcia, authentic experiences, and thoughtful details that evoke the magic of winter.
Traditions take center stage in the piazza del borgo, which transforms into a winter wonderland with an ice-skating rink, charming Christmas market booths, and the unforgettable Santa Claus. With a warm glass of vin brulé and roasted chestnuts, families can stroll down to Santa’s secret cottage for festive photos and delicious treats.
For those seeking a more relaxing experience, the warm winter pool, elegantly covered, offers a soothing swim even in the colder season, surrounded by breathtaking views stretching all the way to Montalcino.
Culinary experiences take the spotlight with a Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brunch, and the New Year’s Feast, followed by a midnight toast to welcome 2026, complete with live music and fireworks. On December 25, the local community gathers at the Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo to celebrate Christmas Mass.
Chef Matteo Temperini will lead guests on a culinary journey through specialty menus for Christmas and New Year’s, paying homage to Tuscany by connecting local ingredients and authentic flavors in a refined, contemporary interpretation of traditional recipes.
This season also brings the return of the renowned winter delicacies by Pastry Chef Michael Boivin, including his artisanal take on panettone, presented as an in-room surprise for guests in both Suite and Villa. Adorned with the aromas and ingredients of bergamot, candied oranges, glazed almonds, and plenty of passion.
Don't miss the unforgettable pan di spezie Christmas chocolates crafted in iconic shapes such as Santa’s hat made with 74% Madagascar dark chocolate, colored with red velvet, and filled with tiny mixed chocolates.
In a postcard-like setting, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco revives its Tuscan winter roots, offering enchanting, family-friendly festive experiences in a borgo where time truly stands still.
