It has been scientifically proven that experiences make us happier than material possessions. They cement social bonds, enrich our knowledge of the world, forge who we are, and provide an endless fund of stories. But in this age of mass tourism, for experiences to really resonate and touch our souls, they need to be genuine, special, unique.

Working closely with those who take pride in excellence and love to share their skills, their local knowledge, their passion for a craft, their deep sense of place, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco has created a portfolio of once-in-a-lifetime Italian experiences for its guests. We have curated them down to the smallest detail while leaving room for the warmth, spontaneity and personal touches that speak to the heart.

Whether it be the thrill of racing a Ferrari full-throttle around a professional racetrack, or the joy of seeing the rugged, wave-lapped villages of the Cinque Terre from the air before dropping in for lunch, these days of wonder and emotion are sure to linger in the memory for many years. We have created them for one simple reason. Because we believe that unique people deserve unique experiences.

UNIQUE FERRARI

UNIQUE FERRARI

The Ferrari company headquarters at Maranello, near Modena, is a place of pilgrimage for racing car lovers the world over. It was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1943 and has expanded gradually over the year to become the ‘Ferrari Citadel’ we see today, created with the help of architects of the caliber of Renzo Piano and Jean Nouvel, among others. Though it is off-limits to regular visitors, private VIP guided tours of the factory’s V8 and V12 assembly lines and F1 Department can be arranged, as well as its state-of-the-art Ferrari Tailor Made department. After the exclusive factory tour, guests also get the chance to visit the Ferrari Museum and the marque’s Ferrari Store, where they benefit from a 20% discount.

UNIQUE MODENA RACETRACK

UNIQUE MODENA RACETRACK

Is there any greater thrill for motoring enthusiasts than putting a fine-tuned Italian sports car through its paces on a real racetrack? When that racetrack is the Autodromo di Modena and when the cars are made by Ferrari or Lamborghini – the most famous marques of the area known as La Terra dei Motori – emotions are guaranteed. This once-in-a-lifetime experience includes a briefing with a qualified instructor, and two sessions on the track, each one consisting of four laps in a car chosen from five available models, the first lap as passenger, the final three as pilot. Accompanying guests can experience sports car handling via a simulator and watch the action from the edge of the park. An unforgettable day concludes with a visit to the Ferrari Museum and Store in nearby Maranello. The pricing for this tour depends on the model of car chosen from the five available : Ferrari 488 Challenge, Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo, Ferrari 458 Challenge, Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo or KTM X-Bow.

UNIQUE CINQUE TERRE & PORTOFINO

UNIQUE CINQUE TERRE & PORTOFINO

Five vibrant, colorful villages in western Liguria, the Cinque Terre are justly famous for their authentic, salty charm and their breathtaking setting. Further up the coast, Portofino is Italy’s archetypal Dolce Vita seaside destination. A tiny fishing port discovered in the 1950s and 1960s by film stars, musicians and captains of industry, it remains utterly charming, cradled in a scenic bay. This unforgettable tour will take you to both locations on a luxurious 24-metre yacht, with lunch in one of Portofino’s historic restaurants and the additional option of a stop in one of the Cinque Terre villages or in the pretty cove of San Fruttuoso, where a tenth-century abbey dominates the little beach. The transfer to and from the port of La Spezia is by helicopter, with the whole of Tuscany spread out like a canvas beneath you.

UNIQUE CINQUE TERRE

UNIQUE CINQUE TERRE

The dramatic coastal setting of the five Ligurian villages known as the Cinque Terre is all the more breathtaking from the air. Part of a UNESCO-designated national park, they cling like limpets to a rugged coast so vertical that no road was ever built between them. On the way to the coast, this private helitour provides stunning views of the impressive Carrara mable quarries where Michelangelo once lived and worked, the audacious Cinque Terre train line and a string of picture-perfect Ligurian resorts. Alighting, you will be whisked to lunch in an authentic beachside trattoria in the fishing village of Monterosso, before taking to the air once more, overflying the historic Tuscan seaside resorts of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, Puccini’s beloved Massaciuccoli Lake and Pisa’s Campo dei Miracoli with its celebrated Leaning Tower.

UNIQUE AMALFI COAST

UNIQUE AMALFI COAST

A place of dramatically perched villages surrounded by terraced lemon and olive groves, of perfect beachside trattorias and barefoot-chic resorts like Positano, the Amalfi Coast is a must for Italy aficionados. And those who have already visited this vertical paradise by land or sea should not pass up the chance to see it from the air, on a once-in-a-lifetime helitour that heads due south from Castiglion del Bosco to the Bay of Naples, where you will overfly Capri and the whole magnificent length of the Amalfi Coast. Touching down near Sorrento, you will be taken for lunch on the terrace of a Michelin-starred restaurant with giddy views. But the icing on the cake is reserved for the return trip: Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, their destiny forever linked, indelibly etched in the birds’ eye view you enjoy from your airy perch.

UNIQUE BOLGHERI

UNIQUE BOLGHERI

Famed for its world-class wines, Bolgheri occupies a pristine swathe of Tuscan coast and hinterland. To make the journey there by helicopter is an unforgettable emotion, an aerial lesson in the region’s age-old symbiosis between man and nature, as olive groves surrounding hilltop villages give way to deep river valleys, cypress-lined white roads and remote abbeys. Landing on the estate of leading Bolgheri winery Tenuta Argentiera, you will enjoy a private tour and guided wine tasting followed by lunch in the Osteria San Guido, on the estate that is home to stellar red Sassicaia. The flight back offers yet more Tuscan natural beauty, with lofty Volterra, San Gimignano bristling with towers and noble Siena all visible, conditions permitting.

UNIQUE YACHT & WINE TUSCANY

UNIQUE YACHT & WINE TUSCANY

It may be less well known than Puglia or the Amalfi Coast, but the Tuscan coast offers awe-inspiring landscapes, great food, stellar wineries, a thriving luxury yachting scene and a string of island pearls known as the Tuscan Archipelago. All these draws come in one neat package on this full day trip. It combines a cruise on a classic 18-metre wooden yacht to the island of Elba, famous as the place of Napoleon’s exile, with lunch made by a Michelin-starred chef and an on-board wine tasting personally led by a Tuscan producer whose winery has been in his family for fifteen generations. Two swimming breaks in pristine bays wrap a magical day, which can be made even more special by adding on the option of helicopter transport to the port of San Vincenzo, otherwise easily reached by limousine transfer from Castiglion del Bosco in just under two hours.
