Rosewood CordeValle's Head Golf Instructor Honored as part of Golf Digest's Best Teachers Program

October 25, 2017

Rosewood CordeValle’s Head Instructor, Jon Horner, was recognized as one of California’s top golf instructors by Golf Digest on the 2017-2018 “Best Teachers by State” list.

As part of Golf Digest’s Best Teachers Program, each year thousands of golf instructors from around the United States vote on the top teaching talent both nationally and in every state. The votes are then tallied to create an annual list of the nation’s most outstanding golf instructors throughout the country.

“At Rosewood CordeValle we take pride in our world-class golf offerings and our talented staff,” said Luca Rutigliano, managing director of Rosewood CordeValle. “We would like to congratulate Jon on his achievement, and are thrilled that his efforts and expertise have been acknowledged by golf professionals across the country.”

Horner first joined Rosewood CordeValle in 2012 and was most recently promoted to his current role as Head Instructor. In this position, Horner is responsible for developing the resort’s instructional programming, as well as improving the technique of members and resort guests. Prior to joining Rosewood CordeValle, Horner was a staff member at the renowned Jim McLean Golf Academy at Miami Beach Golf Club, where he assisted top golf players such as Greg Norman and Ryan Moore. He has also worked as an assistant pro at Bandon Dunes Resort in Oregon and as an instructor in Colorado. Horner is a graduate of University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he studied Recreation and Sports Management with a concentration in Professional Golf Management.

The official teacher rankings will be published in the November 2017 issue of Golf Digest, available at newsstands on October 31. The full list as categorized by state can be found online, at
