Cliffy Awards Yana Orlova

The Cliffy Awards are presented to team members and clubs that embody the Cliff Drysdale Tennis experience through a commitment to world-class tennis and exceptional service for members and guests. All 32 CDT managed facilities submit nominations for the awards before the votes are tallied and finalized by the executive staff.

The prestigious Director of the Year honor went to Orlova and Rosewood Bermuda due to the fantastic efforts and accomplishments put forward by Tucker’s Point Club in 2019. Orlova alongside Ashley Brooks lead programming to resort guests of Rosewood Bermuda, members of Tucker’s Point Club and the local community. An accomplished player who’s competed professionally on the ITF Pro Circuit and acquired a master’s degree in Sport Coaching, Orlova brings a wealth of tennis playing, coaching and management experience.

By offering attractive programs and delivering a great on court experience, the club has been able to grow all three areas of play. 2019 saw the club offer the adult beginner program Tennis 101, corporate tournaments, staff mixers, and adult play social events. These have combined to create unprecedented growth in revenue, participation and community engagement.

Orlova and her team led a large increase in the overall junior programming, including camps, after-school programs, and tournaments. Together Orlova and Brooks managed a heavy on court load to ensure that all guests receive the highest level of service whilst the young athletes in the junior program had a great experience.
