Rosewood Hotel Group Welcomes The Second Cohort Of Impact Trailblazers

VIRGIN GORDA, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS | DECEMBER 17, 2025 – Rosewood Little Dix Bay is proud to announce its distinction as an Impact Trailblazer, a cohort representing hotels and resorts within the Rosewood portfolio that are upleveling the brand’s sustainability and social responsibility efforts. First launched in 2024, the Impact Trailblazers encompass the properties that not only have a proven track record of initiative and innovation when it comes to positive impact, but that have further committed to achieving the group’s most ambitious goals during their inaugural year in the program. Through their experiences in pursuit of these stretch goals and the sharing of these learnings with their sister properties, the larger Rosewood Impacts roadmap continues to refine and strengthen, supporting Rosewood’s mission of creating a future where people and place enrich one.

Set across 500 acres of untouched shoreline and vibrant tropical terrain, Rosewood Little Dix Bay has earned its reputation as a leader in sustainable luxury. Established in 1964 by conservationist Laurance Rockefeller, the resort continues to champion his commitment to protecting Virgin Gorda’s natural environment and supporting the island community.

Through its collaboration with the environmental nonprofit Green VI, the property contributes $1 from every paid room night to sustainability programs across the BVI. This partnership also introduced a full waste-separation system earlier this year, significantly advancing efforts to limit landfill use. Central to this work is the Community Chipper Project, which repurposes landscaping debris into nutrient-rich mulch. The mulch supports the resort’s gardens and is also provided to local farmers and schools, creating a circular model that benefits the wider community. Sustainability on property also extends to guest experiences, with marine conservation efforts advancing through an expanded partnership with the Association of Reef Keepers (ARK). Guests can join monthly turtle-tagging sessions, while the Sea Turtle Recovery Action Plan guides long-term protection. Turtle-friendly lighting and responsible beach practices further highlights the commitment to preserving local marine ecosystems at the resort.

The progress at Rosewood Little Dix Bay has been recognized through the BVI Government Green Pledge and highlighted at the OECS Environmental Sustainability Conference.

As an Impact Trailblazer, Rosewood Little Dix Bay is advancing ambitious goals to deepen sustainability across guest experiences and community engagement. Key initiatives include reopening hiking trails damaged by Hurricane Irma, expanding ocean-to-table dining with local fishermen, and introducing cultural projects like the Art Parasol sculpture and a storytelling trail in Virgin Gorda’s national parks. These efforts aim to strengthen ties with the local community, preserve the island’s natural and cultural heritage, and share best practices across the Rosewood Impacts network.

Rosewood Little Dix Bay joins four other properties from within the Rosewood Hotel Group portfolio in this cohort of Impact Trailblazers: Rosewood Sao Paulo in Brazil, Rosewood San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Italy, and Rosewood Miramar Beach in the United States. To-date, each property has made significant strides towards collective group goals, including the implementation of at least one circular waste solution (100% achieved), the establishment of a long-term partnership that supports environment conservation, biodiversity protection or regeneration in their destination (100% achieved), the elimination of single-use plastics in front-of-house operations (90% achieved), and the local sourcing of at least 50% of culinary products and protein (100% achieved). In an effort to empower their communities, all properties have established long-term meaningful investment in their respective areas and have further prioritized the donation of resources to local partners and organizations: collectively, 8,704 volunteer hours have been logged by associates, 216 students across three vocational institutions have benefited from internships and training, and 26,000 square meters of event space have been utilized for charitable causes.

These properties join the six inaugural Impact Trailblazers to bring the total count of properties in the collection with the designation to eleven, representing nearly 20% of Rosewood’s global collection in less than two years.
