Rosewood Sanya Presents a Culinary Voyage of Discovery to Experience the Paradise Island of Hainan
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® opened the ultra-luxurious brand’s first mainland Chinese resort, Rosewood Sanya, on August 21, 2017. The resort offers exquisite dining and exceptional services on the paradise island of Sanya in Haitang Bay.
With three restaurants and two lounges focusing on traditional Hainanese cuisine, Asian flavors, and European-inspired dishes, combined with the charming interior designs which reflect Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® philosophy, guests are invited to savor an extraordinary dining experiences.

The Fishmonger, a feast for the senses
Located in Rosewood Sanya’s plaza adjacent to the magnificent arrival lobby, and surrounded by lush foliage, The Fishmonger is a market-style, interactive seafood village with pavilions and an open kitchen and main dining area. Upon arrival to The Fishmonger, the focal point is the long line of tanks filled with the freshest catches of the day. Diners are encouraged to handpick their favorite catches and to ask the chefs to prepare the seafood in many of the most popular cooking methods. Divided into three areas, The Fishmonger offers a Chinese-style cooking area (for steaming, boiling, and wok frying); a sushi and crudo bar sees chefs preparing sashimi and sushi; and a grill and fry station offers Asian seafood BBQ. All seafood is freshly sourced daily from the fresh waters of the South China Sea. The restaurant seats up to 180 guests, and includes a stunning alfresco outdoor dining area.
Chop House and sumptuous steaks
During the day, Chop House is a casual gathering spot for families and friends to meet and relax next to the pool. Guests can enjoy comfort food, sparkling prosecco and fresh juices. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant features a menu of surrounding grill including dry-aged beef on grill, house-cured hams and salamis, and fresh, seasonal local produce. In the evening, diners can enjoy specialties such as smoked short ribs, cured pastrami and charcuterie. Chop House seats 70 guests including four charming in-lake cabanas for more intimate and unique dining.
East Kitchen with breathtaking views
Located on the 13th floor and overseeing the panoramic South China Sea, East Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily for guests to enjoy featuring mainly Southeast Asian cuisine. Signature dishes include Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls with Shrimp and Mango and Baked Sambal Mackerel, as well as a Thai-style curry noodle counter featuring regional Asian signatures such as Vietnamese Pho and Singaporean Laksa. East Kitchen seats up to 112 guests.
HAI infinity pool and bar
HAI is an infinity poolside bar located on the 13th floor rooftop with spectacular beach and ocean views. Its relaxing ambience combined with upbeat music offers guests the ideal spot to enjoy light refreshments, exquisite cocktails and premium wines. Guests may choose the private cabanas or enjoy lounging by the poolside. Opening at 7a.m. daily, the infinity pool is exclusively for the use of hotel guests. HAI bar has a capacity of 60 seats.
Guests are encouraged to participate in Rosewood Sanya’s exclusive A Sense of Taste program to enjoy extraordinary gastronomic experiences that delve into Sanya’s rich culinary culture. The program includes Epicurean Encounters in which guests attend a private, guided tour offering rare access to indigenous and authentic culinary experiences. Guests learn about the unique fresh seasonal and local fruits and vegetables from Da Mao Village and local dairy products from local farm. The resort also features Partners in Provenance which locally sources the freshest ingredients from the area.
