Rosewood Sanya Presents Interior Design with Rosewood’s Essence “A Sense of Place”

Rosewood Sanya is the first Mainland Chinese resort of the ultra-luxury Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® and maintains its signature A Sense of Place® philosophy, through the resort's innovative and unique design. Throughout the resort, guests will experience aspects of wood, tribal totems and aquatic elements which create an elegant and contemporary space, celebrating the natural beauty of the surrounding environment, for Rosewood guests to discover on the paradise island of Sanya.

The interior design of the resort, is designed by Hong Kong-based AB concept. The design concept centers around the traditions of the local tribes in a contemporary expression to welcome and inspire Rosewood guests. Connecting indoor and outdoor spaces offers guests unobstructed views of the South China sea, and elevates guests to appreciating this tropical island. The resort's lush surroundings are crafted by the acclaimed Bangkok-based PLA.

Memories of an ancient fishing village

The eight-meter-high arrival lobby showcases elements of a local fisherman’s home, adding layers to the visual effects and creating a greater sense of intimacy. Located on the 14th floor, the reception area has been interpreted as a living room to welcome guests with a stunning full panoramic ocean view. The design is low-key, yet has details of luxury and grace, and fully displays the historical, cultural, architectural and unique customs of Sanya. To complete the distinctive expression of the local Sanya culture, the reception's ceiling features an intricate web of interlocking oak beams to showcase the local craftsmanship.

Breathtaking ocean view rooms

Rosewood Sanya offers 246 ocean-facing guestrooms measuring 68 to 840 square meters, of which 45 feature balconies with plunge pools to perfectly connect the indoor and outside spaces. Hallways on the lower floors are decorated with thoughtfully planted greenery and an abundance of trees for guests to experience a rainforest-like atmosphere in an indoor setting.

Guests will feel the ocean breeze right after passing through the oak and canvas guestroom doors. In the guestrooms, there are many local elements for guests to enjoy, including the local Sanya tribal carpets with unique patterns, combined with distinct oak furniture. The harmonious room design, light-colored rooms, and fresh air from the South China Seas, enables guests to indulge into complete relaxation at Rosewood Sanya.

Dining Splendor

The dining venue interiors are exquisite. Rosewood Sanya offers five restaurants and lounges featuring a range of local and international cuisines, including East Kitchen, a contemporary Asian restaurant offering simple yet impeccably executed comfort foods; light snacks and a stellar collection of specialty cocktails, premium wines and select draft beers in The Lounge; and the infinity poolside bar HAI serves signatures drinks prepared by a resident mixologist while guests enjoy the magnificent full ocean view of the South China Sea.

The Fishmonger is a market-style restaurant where guests may enjoy the day’s freshest catch. With eight-meter high ceilings, and decorated with fish nets, boats and lamps, the atmosphere feels like an ancient fishing village to enjoy a sumptuous feast of fresh seafood paired with premium wines. The open kitchens are an opportunity to communicate and relate with the chefs, a feast for the senses, and to appreciate the joy of cooking. Finally, the seaside dining Chop House presents the freshest steaks and produce grilled to perfection for a culinary indulgence under the stars.
