Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel is Paris’s newest destination for health, wellness, and glamorous grooming. An elegant oasis for visitors and locals alike to relax, refresh, and beautify, the property features Sense, A Rosewood Spa, Rosewood’s award-wining, signature spa brand, a state-of-the-art fitness studio, and a swimming pool. Additionally, the hotel boasts extensive style and grooming offerings including a hair salon by David Lucas for women, Barber by La Barbière de Paris for men, and Shoecare by Devoirdecourt for traditional French shoe-shining and restoration.
Swimming Pool
The newly created Art Deco-style underground pool is an elegant, aquatic salon. Inspired by the four elements – water, fire, earth, and air – the pool area features a mural work by noted ceramist Peter Lane. An intricate play on light prevails between the pool and the Cour Gabriel courtyard above: during the day, the natural light from overhead makes the pool shimmer, and at night, the pool illuminates the courtyard through a glass roof.
Fitness Studio
Equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, the fitness studio is reserved for hotel guests. Leather bricks adorn the walls, and stitched suede pillars dominate the space.
Open daily, 6:00am – 10:00pm (pool); 24 hours (fitness).
Sense, A Rosewood Spa
Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Hôtel de Crillon is a serene, airy sanctuary overlooking Cour Gabriel courtyard where guests and locals alike can indulge in soothing therapies. Sophie Demaret, spa director, manages the beauty area, which includes the spa, barber and shoe care space. Her multidisciplinary team includes five therapists, as well a Tibetan therapist and visiting Shiatsu master who are available on request either in the spa or in the guest rooms.
In addition to traditional treatments and therapies, the spa offers state-of-the-art wellness technology and methods, such as the Jet-Peel, a rejuvenating skincare remedy that gently lifts the skin without any unpleasant sensations. Relaxing beauty rituals are incorporated throughout the entire spa experience, including Oshiboris (hot towels) for the hands and feet and French Duvelleroy fans made of perfumed silk jacquard and pear wood waved gently in front of the face and body before the treatments start and a silky perfumed powder, sprinkled over the skin with a vintage atomizer by Marcel Franck as the treatments end.
The spa’s design is a subtle nod to sea baths, with marble in nude tones, venetian plasters, ceramics, celadon mirrors, and aqua and turquoise accents, while curves in the corridors and stairs evoke the feminine form. Four spacious treatment rooms including a couples suite provide services by exceptional French brands EviDenS de Beauté and Maison Caulières.
EviDenS de Beauté, created by Charles-Edouard Barthes, combines Japanese excellence and French art de vivre in a line of anti-aging products for sensitive skin. Guests can choose from exceptional products and experiences, including the Absolute Ritual Global Anti-Age 360° facial, which was created exclusively for Sense, A Rosewood Spa.
Synonymous with French lifestyle and well-being, Maison Caulières is a renowned French brand of body care products featuring natural oils that was founded by Xavier Desforges de Caulières and is based on 250 years of family history in cultivating plants and reproducing ancestral savoir-faire. Drawing inspiration from nature, each Maison Caulières product is designed with the highest respect for the land and its resources. Maison Caulières created a body menu for Sense, A Rosewood Spa at Hôtel de Crillon, which includes four bodytreatments developed by Xavier that follow the rhythm of the seasons and two signature Rosewood Hotels & Resorts treatments.
Sense, A Rosewood Spa is open daily from 9:00am – 8:00pm.
Stylish Grooming
The Hair Salon by David Lucas and the Barber by La Barbière de Paris are linked to the spa and hosted by two renowned Parisian personalities, who practice their arts with passion.
The Hair Salon by David Lucas is the hotel’s full-service women’s hair salon, overseen by David Lucas, a star among the coiffeurs of Paris and a renowned colourist. As a coiffeur, Lucas respects hair and banishes all aggressive products. To welcome VIP guests, one alcove in the salon features walls covered in peacock and black feathers in a very glamorous Madame Pompadour style.
Open daily, 9:00am – 8:00pm.
Barber by La Barbière de Paris provides beard trim and hairstyling overseen by Sarah Daniel Hamizi, a classically-trained barber who regularly tops the lists of the city’s best and who works to transform shaving into a highly-refined ritual. She and her team offer a wide variety of treatments, from straight-razor shaves to steam shaving, hair removal, dyeing, and extensions.
Shoecare by Devoirdecourt specializes in traditional French shoe-shining techniques and the restoration of fine footwear. A team of elite craftsmen provides delicate care to leather goods through impeccably executed beaux gestes such as Delamain cognac glaçage.
The men’s grooming services are open daily, 9:00am – 8:00pm.
Well-being in the guestrooms
Well-being is a priority throughout the hotel. The guestrooms feature exclusive amenities from the parfumerie Buly. Owners Ramdane Touhami and Victoire de Taillac bring a refined note - their rare scents take inspiration from the secrets of the apothecary Vincent Bully who was popular in 1787, a year before the Duc de Crillon took possession of the mansion that would become Hôtel de Crillon.
