PRESS RELEASES
August 26, 2020
From 1st September, Rosewood London will reopen its doors with a new outdoor dining space, in partnership with the pioneering English sparkling wine producer, Nyetimber. Rosewood London will bring the charming surroundings of the Nyetimber estate and the heart of the English countryside to central London.
Following the success of last year’s Secret Garden pop-up and a surge in the celebration of British produce, Rosewood London has reignited its partnership with Nyetimber once again. Together, they have expanded the existing terrace to allow for social distancing so more diners can safely enjoy the majestic atmosphere of the hotel’s historic elegant courtyard.
On the last three Thursdays of September, Rosewood London and Nyetimber will bring the courtyard to life through intimate live performances. Set on a stage in the centre of the courtyard, with a backdrop of the stunning belle epoque façade, guests can enjoy sounds from local artists including some of Scarfes Bar’s resident performers, Nick & Kitty La Roar and Damien Flood.
In addition, guests will have the opportunity to experience Nyetimber’s prestige range of English sparkling wines both by the glass and by the bottle. The pours on offer will include a varied selection of white and rosé sparkling wine including Nyetimber Classic Cuvee, Nyetimber Rosé and Nyetimber Blanc de Blancs. A selection of other wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
Holborn Dining Room’s Executive Head Chef Calum Franklin has created a special menu of dishes that are perfectly paired with a refreshing glass of Nyetimber. Visitors can expect both sweet and savoury treats from Holborn Dining Room, including:
- Grilled octopus, native breed chorizo, aioli
- Monkshill Farm scotch egg with caper mayonnaise
- Gin cured salmon, pickled cucumber and rye bagel
- Chicken, girolle and tarragon pie with garden peas
- Sticky toffee pudding, vanilla ice cream
- Trinity burnt cream, shortbread
Some dishes, that match particularly well, will be listed with a suggested Nyetimber pairing.
The Nyetimber estate counts three major milestones in its history. Its earliest beginnings saw it named in the Domesday Book in 1086 almost 1,000 years ago, when the peaceful valley of Nitimbreha made its first appearance in recorded history. The first vines were planted in 1988, when the holy trinity of sparkling wine grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier found a new home at the Nyetimber estate in West Sussex in the lee of the South Downs.
Over the past 30 years, Nyetimber wines have achieved global acclaim, winning international awards and blind tasting competitions, as well as being recognised by some of the world’s most celebrated wine experts.
The Nyetimber Terrace at Rosewood London is open from 1st September until early October, from 12pm to close daily. Live music performances on Thursdays 10th, 17th & 24th September from 6.00pm, additional dates with special guests to be announced.
