Rosewood Mayakoba’s culinary offerings are inspired by Mexico’s rich heritage, distinct traditions and culture throughout country’s diverse regions. The Resort is a sensorial journey, where guests can experience and taste regional cuisine across five restaurants and bars, in-suite dining and a variety of culinary delights.

With a passionate and a creative approach, Director of Culinary Operations, Juan Pablo Loza focuses on authentic flavors and ingredients through contemporary menus. Chef Loza is constantly in search of sustainable ingredients from local farmers and providers to ensure freshness, quality and ethical purchasing practices.

As guests embark on their culinary journey at Rosewood Mayakoba they will experience a fusion of traditional Mexican ingredients and cooking techniques with surprise influences.


CASA DEL LAGO - Traditional Central Mexico-style Breakfast 
Rising above the Resort’s main pool, Casa del Lago celebrates the breakfast traditions of Central Mexico. This tranquil interlude is heightened by the restaurant’s beautiful lagoon setting. Each morning, an extensive continental breakfast buffet is laid out with premium cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, pastries, cereals and yogurts, while contemporary interpretations of traditional favorites are available from an à la carte menu.

PUNTA BONITA - Lunch by the sea with a menu drawn from Mexico’s Southern Pacific coast
Spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea grace Punta Bonita restaurant. Situated next to the Resort’s family pool deck, this casual restaurant serves lunch with a choice of indoor or terrace seating as well as dishes to share at the beach or pool. 
AGAVE AZUL - Northern Baja California seafood restaurant with Asian influences
Inspired by the proliferation of Asian culinary influences found along Tijuana’s colorful streets, Agave Azul restaurant fuses Chinese and Japanese cooking techniques with the traditions of northern Baja California’s Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe. Known for providing some of the best seafood in the world, northern Mexico boasts a robust street culture and remarkedly diverse cuisine. Agave Azul’s seafood-driven menu features Asian flair, with exciting flavor combinations.

Overlooking a tranquil lagoon, Agave Azul boasts sweeping views of the main pool and lush mangroves, making it a delightful choice for pre-dinner cocktails, appetizers or a light dinner as evening sets in.

ZAPOTE - Yucatán bar with Mediterranean small plates 
Rosewood Mayakoba’s newest experience is named after a tropical fruit tree indigenous to the Caribbean and Central America. Offering a relaxed atmosphere, Zapote takes its cues from Yucatan’s colonial haciendas. A cozy indoor-outdoor living room surrounded by lush jungle, the bar is the social heart of the resort—the place for easy conversation, contemporary Mayan cocktails and shareable Mediterranean-style small plates created from locally procured ingredients.

AQUI ME QUEDO - Beachside haven featuring Caribbean coastal fare
At the adults-only beachfront oasis -Aquí Me Quedo- guests can pair hours of toes-in-the-sand serenity with fresh Caribbean coastal fare. Conceived as a secluded and vibrant spot to soak in Riviera Maya’s simple pleasures, the retreat mirrors the residential style of a grand seaside home and the relaxed, natural beauty of Mayakoba. With its open-air living and dining rooms, sunken infinity pools, interactive display kitchen and 2,200-square-foot event space, the enclave is an inviting place to gather, dine, relax and play.

Channeling the laidback spirit of Mexico’s Caribbean coast, Aquí Me Quedo offers open-air tables and lounge seating beneath a canopy of palm trees. Between strolls in the surf and dips in the pools, sunseekers can savor tangy ceviche, the catch of the day, fresh coconut, local beer, rosé, mojitos and fine Mexican spirits such as mezcal and tequila—all served from La Cantina, a retrofitted vintage food truck on the beach.

Traditional  Mayan cooking techniques take center stage at La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen, the Resort’s one-of-a-kind outdoor culinary adventure. In an interactive setting, guests partake in lively sit-down meals, cooking demonstrations and tastings.
Enveloped in stunning natural beauty, the 20,000-square-foot fine dining restaurant is anchored by an 18-seat communal table set beneath a mighty Ceiba tree—an ancient Mayan symbol for prosperity, strength, unity and earthly connections to the spirits above. The al fresco kitchen, which serves only food cooked over an open flame in accordance with Mayan tradition, specializes in both classic and modern Mexican dishes, elevated with seasonal ingredients from the garden. For perfect pairings, a Garden Mixologist is on hand to guide patrons in selecting the best Mexican herbs and spices for their cocktails. 

BEACHFRONT DINING  - Dinner by the sea
Enjoy a unique culinary experience under the stars of the Riviera Maya. The resort offers a rotating calendar of dinner service between Punta Bonita and Aquí Me Quedo, with comfortable seating on one of the seaside decks or directly on the sand. At these beachfront venues, guests enjoy authentic recipes from Mexico’s southern coast, such as moles, adobos and pipiáns combined with vegetables and fresh produce from the region.

LA FONDITA - Mexico City-inspired tostaderia and mezcaleria
Drawing inspiration from Mexico City’s casual neighborhood eateries, La Fondita is set in the charming atmosphere of a chic cantina. Colorful, freshly prepared street foods dominate a menu of local favorites, including tostadas, tacos, aguas frescas, craft beer and mezcal. After browsing the galleries and boutiques of Mayakoba’s El Pueblito village square, the indoor-outdoor restaurant is an ideal place to stop for a light lunch, afternoon snack or refreshments.

PAN DULCE - Traditional Mexican bakery
The aromas, textures and flavors of food can transport one through time and space to the fondest recollections. At Pan Dulce, memories and shared moments are captured in the most enticing Mexican baked goods. Composed of the freshest ingredients, delectable breads, pastries and cookies are issued daily from its ovens. The traditional bakery, which is located in Mayakoba’s El Pueblito village square, also creates custom orders for guests’ special occasions.


Housing an impressive collection of wines, the Resort’s glass-walled cellar also serves as a private dining space for groups of up to eight persons or romantic dinners for two. For these special engagements, Rosewood Mayakoba’s culinary team crafts personalized menus with exceptional Mexican wine pairings, including selections from the oldest winery in the New World, Casa Madero (est. 1597).

Set adjacent to Casa del Lago, Avicenia is an elegant and intimate private dining room that accommodates up to 12 guests. The space is ideal for special celebrations, exclusive engagements, family gatherings and private wine and tequila tastings.



Hacienda Harvest & Picnic
Travel back in time and immerse yourself in Yucatan Peninsula’s deeply rooted colonial heritage. Learn to harvest your own picnic using regenerative biodynamic agriculture techniques based on the principles of permaculture, conservation and sustainability. Cool off in a private cenote before sitting down to lunch in one of the many unique settings at the historical hacienda, complete with seasonal beverages made with fruits and herbs from the estate. This incredible experience concludes with a local cheese and honey tasting.

Taco Discovery at La Ceiba
Uncover the secrets behind one of Mexico’s most iconic cuisine — El Taco. During this hands-on workshop, you will prepare three tacos and salsas alongside our talented chefs using fresh ingredients you have procured from our organic garden. As you enjoy local beer, mezcal or Mexican wine, a range of cooking techniques will be demonstrated, including how to make tortillas from scratch.

Mexican Barbecue
Once a week, a colorful celebration transforms Punta Bonita, extending from the restaurant deck to the beach. At live stations, chefs prepare a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables over open-flame charcoal grills. Freshly made tortillas tacos and tostadas along with decadent desserts are savored to the rhythm of live music and captivating views of the sea. Seating is available on the deck or beach, and a welcome cocktail is included.

Beach Food Fest
Join family and friends on a journey across the world as we explore street food with an international twist. Enjoy a relaxed evening under the stars with live music and lounge seating overlooking the beach while our chefs serve up enticing interpretations of their favorite dishes. Savor small plates paired with tequila, mezcal, Mexican wine or your favorite cocktail. Highlights include empanadas, samosas, tamales, and grilled seafood.
