Rosewood Mayakoba Named Top Hotel Spa in Mexico, Central and South America by Travel + Leisure Magazine

July 2, 2014

Riviera Maya, Mexico – Rosewood Mayakoba is once again honored to be recognized as the best hotel spa in Mexico, Central and South America by the prestigious Travel + Leisure magazine for the second year in a row. Sense, A Rosewood Spa®, set on its own private island within the legendary resort, is ranked as the category’s number one top hotel spa in Travel + Leisure’s 2014 World’s Best awards. Rosewood Mayakoba is also ranked number 25 on the list of the top 100 hotels worldwide. This is the fourth time Rosewood Mayakoba has been included in the publication’s highly coveted reader’s survey list since its grand opening in 2008.

“Winning this momentous award is a testament to our dedicated staff and their commitment to providing our guests with an unmatched level of service,” said Graeme Davis, Regional Vice President and Managing Director of Rosewood Mayakoba. “The private oasis and natural setting of Sense, A Rosewood Spa® inspires original treatments that feature indigenous ingredients that leave guests balanced and rejuvenated. We would like to thank our loyal guests, the readers and editors of Travel + Leisure magazine for once again recognizing our resort in such a profound way.”

Rosewood Mayakoba, situated amongst 1,600 acres of winding lagoons and a mile-long arc of white Caribbean sand, has enchanted guests since the resort’s debut in 2008. Its 130 suites all with private pools, docks and waterfront terraces, four award winning dining venues, and El Camaleón, the Greg Norman designed championship golf course and home to the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, is a destination that tops all others in Mexico.

As a foremost leader in the luxury travel industry, Rosewood Mayakoba is constantly evolving to offer the best in amenities and innovative experiences for guests. The secluded setting of Sense, A Rosewood Spa® enhances its connection to the surrounding jungle and influences the dynamic treatment menu. The Temazcal Journey is based on traditional Mayan healing methods, while the Equinox Ritual utilizes a copal blessing once practiced by Mayan warriors. It is advances like these that create loyal guests, attract new ones and cause Rosewood Mayakoba to be recognized by the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards reader’s survey.

The results of the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2014 will be featured online and in the August issue of Travel + Leisure, on newsstands July 18.
