Rosewood Mayakoba Announces Completion of Three Million Dollar Enhancement Project

September 25, 2015

Rosewood Mayakoba, the ultra-luxury resort located in the idyllic Riviera Maya, today announced the completion of its three million enhancement project. The two-week refresh, which took place from September 7 to September 22, includes the transformation of select guest accommodations, dining outlets and public spaces. The resort reopened today in preparation for the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Americas, which the property will again host from September 28 to October 1.

Further property enhancements include a reconfiguration of the outdoor living space for the Beachside Lagoon View Suites, the addition of the two-bedroom Mayakoba Suites and outdoor rain showers for the Beachfront Studio Suites, as well as improvements to the resort’s four, one-of-a-kind dining experiences. Representing a USD three million total investment, Rosewood Mayakoba further elevates the five-star experience in the Riviera Maya, offering visitors the ultimate in luxurious accommodations, sophisticated culinary venues, and authentic experiences that pay homage to Mayan traditions.

“At Rosewood Mayakoba we are constantly looking for innovative ways to reinvigorate the guest experience and take luxury to the next level, so that our guests have a reason to come back again and again,” said Daniel Scott, managing director of Rosewood Mayakoba. “The recently completed enhancement project is a further testament to our commitment to continually refine and improve the guest experience, and we are excited to welcome guests back to the resort.”

Since its opening in 2008, Rosewood Mayakoba has been an oasis of luxury, blending the lush jungles of the Riviera Maya with the pristine white sand and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. As a result of the recent enhancement, the resort’s four new two-bedroom Mayakoba Suites, ideal for family or multi-generational travel, feature a spacious master bedroom and bath on the ground level, in addition to an accommodating second bedroom and bath, living room, dining table, and outdoor terrace located on the second floor. The pinnacle of sophisticated comfort, the suite also features a rain shower in the second-floor bathroom, a plunge pool on the terrace, and an exterior spiral staircase to the rooftop with a breathtaking 360 degree panorama view showcasing the lush landscape of the Riviera Maya.
Additionally, the Beachside Lagoon Suites are now outfitted with additional outdoor seating, including a two-person hammock, chaise lounges, and an outdoor dining table for a luxurious, residential feel both inside and out. The Beachside Lagoon Suites are also refreshed with spacious double showers.

The enhancements also include general refurbishments of the lobby and walkways throughout the resort.

Al Fresco Dining
Several enrichments were also executed at Rosewood Mayakoba’s restaurants, following closely on the successful opening of La Ceiba in October 2014, the resort’s outdoor kitchen and garden concept which is the first of its kind in Riviera Maya. Refurbishments include a new deck at Casa del Lago for al fresco dining at lunch time, as well as an expanded kitchen at Agave Azul Sushi Bar and Tequila Library. Inspired by open floor plans that seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor living spaces, the revamped Agave Azul restaurant now offers a new lagoon-level dining area, ideal for taking in the sights and sounds of the tranquil surroundings. The new deck-level dining area at Agave Azul is the ultimate setting to sample the innovative cuisine and over 100 labels of premium tequilas available at Agave Azul.
