An interior design guru trains his eye on Mexico’s finest artisans
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy tastemaker, Thom Filicia, shares his black book of addresses on a personal shopping expedition to Guadalajara, a goldmine of artisan furniture and décor. A design consultation, private jet transfers and accommodation in a Filicia-designed private residence at Rosewood Mayakoba cap this sensational gift.
Thom Filicia, one of the original Fab Five from the Emmy Award-winning makeover show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, has carved out a career as tastemaker extraordinaire, designing interiors for the likes of Tina Fey, Jennifer Lopez and Delta Air Lines, as well as the stunning private residences at Rosewood Mayakoba. Featured in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Vogue Home and other leading publications, his style is modern yet classic, a blend of relaxed sophistication and refined subtlety that reflects the individuality of his clients.
Join Thom on a personal shopping expedition like no other, which begins with a full personal consultation to design the perfect furniture for home. Up to four guests are then whisked by private jet to Tlaquepaque in Jalisco, Guadalajara, an arts and crafts production epicenter. Once there, Thom will lead buyers to coveted secret addresses for the finest artisan furniture and décor makers in Mexico, and provide guidance on commissioning and purchasing pieces.
On returning to the resort, guests will stay in an ultra-luxurious private residence, set within the lush oasis that is Rosewood Mayakoba, where jungle meets the sea on the Riviera Maya.
