THE WORLD ON A PLATE

With Western cuisine as its staple but absorbing a host of other ethnic flavors, Vancouver is an underrated gem when it comes to gastronomic pleasures.

A TOAST TO THE THIS ICONIC CITY

From champagne bars to vibrant speakeasies, Vancouver is a bar-hopper’s dream.

With more restaurants per capita than New York, Toronto and Las Vegas, Vancouver’s ethnic diversity shines through in its local dining scene. With an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, the city’s chefs have laid out a global feast for travelers.

Miku

When Miku burst onto the cityscape in 2008 it created quite a stir. Not only did it fill a void of refined Japanese restaurants in the downtown core, it daringly introduced the nearly scandalous idea of sushi without soya sauce or wasabi. Miku accomplishes the feat through its signature Aburi-style sushi, lightly seared to bring out the fish's natural flavours, and infused with savoury sauces. Accompanying their trademark sushi is an inventive, modern approach to Japanese cuisine and an extensive sake list.
