Rosewood Hotel Georgia Introduces The Art of Tea in the Storied 1927 Lounge
An elegant new ritual unfolds amid heritage architecture and contemporary refinement, offering a timeless expression of tea.
Rosewood Hotel Georgia introduces The Art of Tea, a refined afternoon tea experience set within the hotel’s intimate 1927 Lounge. Surrounded by heritage architecture, curated artwork, and warm lighting, the space becomes an elegant backdrop for a contemporary interpretation of this timeless ritual each afternoon.
Both visual and sensory, The Art of Tea highlights craftsmanship and seasonally inspired expression. Guests are invited to discover a curated selection of premium teas, presented tableside in a bespoke tea chest that encourages exploration through sight and aroma. The collection spans a diverse range, from estate-grade green teas and full-bodied black teas to rare oolongs, herbal infusions, and delicate white teas, including a signature blend inspired by Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year, Cloud Dancer, featuring soft notes of rose and vanilla.
A thoughtfully composed progression of savory bites, freshly baked scones and artfully crafted pastries follows, each presented with care and detail. Highlights include classic buttermilk and Okanagan apple cinnamon scones; refined tea sandwiches such as smoked steelhead with Boursin, coronation chicken, English cucumber, and a Japanese-inspired tamago sando; alongside elevated savory pastries like short rib Wellington and caramelized onion and Gruyère tart. A curated selection of sweets—ranging from Valrhona opera cake and strawberry tart to delicate canelés, macarons, and a trio of Nanaimo bars, a beloved Vancouver classic—completes the experience.
Offered at $75 per person, or $95 with a glass of Champagne, the experience invites guests to linger and indulge in a modern expression of afternoon tea that is both elevated and transportive. Throughout the year, the offering evolves through distinct seasonal editions that transform the décor, florals and flavor profiles:
- Spring – The Blossom Edition: Light, floral notes such as white peony accompany delicately styled pastries and soft botanical accents.
- Summer – The Garden Soirée Edition: Bright, refreshing blends including iced hibiscus and citrus verbena are paired with vibrant florals and fruit-forward pastry expressions.
- Fall – The Jewel Edition: Richer tones and moody arrangements complement teas such as smoked Earl Grey, alongside warmly spiced, autumnal creations.
- Holiday – The Golden Reserve: A festive interpretation featuring refined seasonal teas and celebratory flourishes reflected in both décor and pastry design.
Each menu is presented as a beautifully designed invitation, reinforcing the experience’s elegance and sense of occasion. The tea honors Hotel Georgia’s storied legacy, evolving with each season while reflecting the property’s enduring elegance and refined character.
