Beauty of Decay Art Exhibition
New solo exhibition in Thailand by French artist JM Robert.
Rosewood Bangkok presents a solo exhibition by French contemporary artist JM Robert, the latest in its quarterly rotating exhibitions showcasing local and international artists.
“Beauty of Decay” opens on June 15, 2023 at The Art Gallery on the 3rd floor of Rosewood Bangkok, where it will remain open to the public for three months until September 14, 2023.
An alumnus of the illustrious Métiers d’Art national institute of arts and crafts, JM Robert’s distinct artistic vision is deeply rooted in his fascination with the aesthetics of dilapidated structures. His works embody an innovative fusion of Pop Art and Street Art influences, presenting a fresh perspective on the beauty found in urban decay.
JM Robert's bold artistry celebrates women as the new conquerors of wisdom, inviting viewers to recognize and honor the strength, grace, and resilience of women who continue to flourish in a world that often attempts to restrain their vast potential.
Through the use of techniques like graffiti, scraping, and scratching, JM Robert's abstract backdrops echo the patina, grime, and degradation of architectural facades. Against this rich tapestry of colors, he introduces a stark contrast with a stenciled, feminine face, beautifully capturing fleeting moments of emotion.
Following successful exhibitions in France, Hong Kong, and Singapore, JM Robert brings his unique perspective to Bangkok for the first time.
Unearth the beauty and possibilities of life amidst the forgotten corners of our world at “Beauty of Decay” Art Exhibition at the Art Gallery on the 3rd floor of Rosewood Bangkok from June 15 until September 14, 2023.

About Rosewood Bangkok
Rosewood Bangkok is a sanctuary rising high with the city’s skyline. Shaped by the Thai gesture of respect, ‘wai’, the striking vertical form is an expression of the region’s soul: tradition and modernity uniting in form, taste and culture. Inspired by elegant Thai sensibilities and contemporary design, the 158 rooms, including 20 suites and three signature houses, are spaces that invite calm and restoration. Here, the four dining spaces are shaped by stories, from regionally-inspired Thai cuisine to dishes that honor the city’s Chinese heritage. At Lennon’s, one of Southeast Asia’s largest vinyl collections sets the scene for craft cocktails. Every detail is curated for connection: guests can discover Thai cooking classes, curated works by local artists and traditional restorative rituals at Sense Spa.
