Kona Village, a Rosewood Resort Awarded Three Keys by the Michelin Guide
The Resort Receives the Guide’s Highest Hotel Distinction for a Third Consecutive Year
KAILUA-KONA, HAWAIʻI | SEPTEMBER 18, 2026 – Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort is proud to announce it has been awarded a coveted Three MICHELIN Key designation in the MICHELIN Guide’s 2026 global hotel selection. The distinction recognizes the resort among the world’s most exceptional properties, representing a significant achievement for both the resort and the Rosewood brand. This marks the resort’s third consecutive year with Three MICHELIN Keys. It remains Hawaiʻi’s only Three-Key hotel and one of 15 in the United States.
Unveiled on October 18, 2026, the MICHELIN Key distinction is the hotel equivalent of the MICHELIN Star for restaurants. Since its introduction in 2024, the MICHELIN Key has quickly become one of the most respected distinctions in global hospitality. A Three Key designation – the highest a hotel can receive, as the rankings span from One, Two, or Three Keys – demarcates “an extraordinary stay” that offers the ultimate in comfort, service, style, and elegance and is a destination for the trip of a lifetime.
Set across 81 acres along Kahuwai Bay, Kona Village is rooted in Hawaiian legacy and Kaʻūpūlehu’s history, culture and natural surroundings. Its 150 stand-alone guest hale, destination-driven dining and Asaya Spa thoughtfully reimagine the original resort while carrying forward the values of ʻohana and hoʻokipa—hospitality of complete giving.
"Earning Three MICHELIN Keys for a third consecutive year is a profound honor, and shows this isn't just a moment, but a standard we've built and upheld since our earliest days. This recognition belongs to every member of our team who carries forward the stories, values, and traditions of Kaʻūpūlehu, and we are deeply grateful to welcome guests into that legacy."
TRACY STOLTZ, MANAGING DIRECTOR, KONA VILLAGE, A ROSEWOOD RESORT
To earn a spot within the MICHELIN guide hotels must fulfill five universal criteria: excellence in architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the neighborhood or setting. Out of the over 7,000 hotels recognized in the guide, the MICHELIN Key designates the most outstanding experiences across these sectors as determined by MICHELIN Inspectors. The 2025 reveal marked the first worldwide unveiling, with hotels across every region now eligible for the distinction.
