Rosewood Bangkok Presents "RAO WAT II: Walking the Road of Song Wat Through the Artists' Lens"
BANGKOK, THAILAND | OCTOBER 27, 2025 – Rosewood Bangkok is delighted to announce its partnership with PLAY art house to host Rao Wat II: Walking the Road of Song Wat Through the Artists' Lens, a compelling exhibition that invites visitors to explore the unique character and rapid transformation of Bangkok's famed Song Wat Road through the eyes of nine contemporary artists.
The journey to understand Song Wat Road began two years ago with Rao Wat I, the inaugural exhibition hosted at PLAY art house, which captured the artists' perception of the area's lingering old tales and historic atmosphere. Now, Rao Wat II represents the next, evolving chapter and is being presented for the first time at Rosewood Bangkok. Curated by Seada Samdao, this collection moves beyond the typical tourist guide to capture the area's authentic heart and rapid transformation. As Seada Samdao notes, "Song Wat Road is a living, breathing story, and Rao Wat II is a moment for our artists to pause and reflect on its current chapter." The exhibition showcases the compelling contrasts of the 1.2-kilometer road, from the shine of modern, trendy businesses to the deep-rooted charm of long-established local shops, highlighting the enduring beauty and rapidly shifting soul of Song Wat.
The diverse works—presented in various styles and media—offer personal encounters and profound reflections on a road that has continuously reinvented itself since a great fire devastated the area in 1906, leading to the creation of its unusually straight, defining line.
