Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi Hosts a Three-Day Pop-Up with Waddell Gallery Featuring Renowned Work from Native American Jewelers

Thirteen Native American Artists to Display Work in an Exclusive Jewelry Showcase

Released 29 July 2020

Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, the premier boutique hotel located in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is pleased to announce that Waddell Gallery, an icon for superb Native American jewelry, will host a limited time showcase at the hotel from August 12-16, 2020, offering a one-of-a-kind art experience for guests and locals alike.

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona the Waddell Gallery dates back three generations to the 1930s and has since evolved into the premier Native American jewelry gallery in the country, featuring a range of works from established masters to emerging artists. More than ten Native American jewelers will have works on display in the hotel’s Library. Notable artists in the August exhibit include the late Charles Loloma, an influential Hopi Native American artist, who popularized the use of gold and gemstones, along with and Preston Monongye, a leader in the “The New Indian Jewelry” movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Also on display are pieces from artists including Jared Chavez, Perry Shorty and Darryl Dean Begay, all three of whom will also be participating in the 2020 Santa Fe Indian Market, one of the city’s most popular annual events, that will be virtual this year due to COVID-19.

While the Santa Fe Indian Market will proceed virtually, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi is pleased to offer a safe and intimate venue where Native American artists can showcase their work and guests can enjoyably view and purchase items in person.

“At a time when many of the city’s beloved festivals and museums are closed to the public, the showcase with Waddell Gallery is an experience visitors can enjoy to immerse themselves in the destination’s rich art scene,” “We are honored to provide the artists a private venue to showcase their work while offering our guests a personalized version of the cultural experience Santa Fe is known for.”

Lutz Arnhold, managing director of Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi

Visitors and locals alike will have the opportunity to schedule a private viewing appointment and meet jewelers Perry Shorty, Wes Willie, White Buffalo and Boyd Tsosie in person. Viewing timeslots can be booked through the front desk. More information on the Waddell Gallery and the gallery’s work in supporting Native American artists can be found here.
