As part of this new initiative, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts around the world are introducing a collection of activities and adventures designed to help guests awaken their senses, broaden their horizons, and go deeper into destinations around the world. At the forefront of current trends in luxury travel, Rosewood’s Summer Immerse experiences have been thoughtfully created for those who are eager to hit the road as the world enters a new era of exploration. Ranging from culinary journeys to active adventures, these immersive experiences capture the essence of summer in Riviera Maya, giving guests the opportunity to connect with nature, discover local cultures, and participate in responsible tourism.

Carefully curated to immerse guests in the unique spirit and natural beauty of the Riviera Maya, Rosewood Mayakoba’s bespoke activities fall under the distinctive pillars of flavor and sustainability.

Each of Rosewood Mayakoba’s Summer Immerse activities consists of both on-and-off-property options, giving guests the flexibility to add something extra to any length of stay, whether that be a long summer sojourn or a quick weekend getaway. FLAVOR

Mexican Sake and Sushi Pairing:

A tasting of Mexican sakes expertly crafted from Baja California, where an influx of Japanese migrants during the late 19th century resulted in a beautiful marriage of cultures, flavors, and spirits. Each sake is carefully paired with dishes from Agave Azul, which celebrates the culinary heritage of the Baja California peninsula.

Taste of the Yucatan: Gin-Making Workshop with Gin Katun:

This interactive gin-making workshop is led by the only gin producer on the Yucatan peninsula, Roberto Brinkman, the proprietor behind Gin Katun. This special spirit is distilled using traditional methods but spotlights a variety of more than twenty botanicals native to the Yucatan, including Naranja Agria (sour orange), Chinalima (sweet lime), Mayan Oregano, and more. Learn how to distill Gin Katun in this curated workshop followed by a cocktail tasting.

SUSTAINABILITY

Cave Exploration:

Explore one of the three onsite cenotes located within Mayakoba, particularly El Burrodromo, where guests are treated to a firsthand look at the ancient cave’s community of bats, beautiful rock formations, and crystalline waters that link to all other cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula. Kids who complete this guided tour receive a special cenote explorer badge to commemorate their experience.

A Happy Place: K’iin Beh School & Foundation:

Rosewood Mayakoba provides guests with the ability to make meaningful and authentic connections with the local community by visiting Centro Educativo K’iin Beh, a school built in 2017 for the children of its employees and the local community. Visit this "happy place" and join the children for a fun, interactive gardening experience.
