Rosewood Miramar Beach Announces Kendall Conrad as Rosewood PlaceMaker

Rosewood Miramar Beach, located in Montecito, California, is pleased to introduce Kendall Conrad as the property’s inaugural Rosewood PlaceMaker. Serving as an extension of the brand’s guiding A Sense of Place ™ philosophy, wherein each property is designed to immerse guests in the destination, the PlaceMakers program taps the beacons of Rosewood’s communities to harness local culture through bespoke experiences. As the inaugural PlaceMaker for Rosewood Miramar Beach, Kendall Conrad has developed unique activations and programming, along with her own personally curated destination guide—tapping into her intimate knowledge of the Santa Barbara area and rooted in her niche areas of expertise.

Kendall Conrad is a former model turned accessories designer who was born in San Francisco and spent a large portion of her childhood living and exploring just south of Rosewood Miramar Beach. Today, Kendall’s love of the destination continues as she is a regular at the estate-like resort. From dining at Caruso’s to taking her dogs for walks along the resort’s beach, Kendall’s unique connection to the property has expanded throughout her life. In 2010, she pursued her passion for designing handbags and launched her eponymous line, moving to Los Angeles where she eventually found herself back on the Central Coast, in Santa Ynez. In addition to effortless California style, sustainability is also at the core of Kendall’s brand, as she solely uses environmentally friendly and ethical leathers that are a by-product of the food industry.

Style & shoot package

With her background in modeling, Kendall is not only comfortable in front of the camera but is also a passionate photographer in her own right. Over the years, she has captured photography for Santa Barbara Magazine in addition to creating stunning visuals for her blog, Aficionada. For Kendall’s first offering as PlaceMaker, she has curated a “Style & Shoot” package, where guests can engage with her directly for a one-on-one special experience. Participants will get to hand-select accessories from her collection to model for the day in their very own photo shoot that brings them directly into Montecito, shooting with a beautiful background of local scenery selected by Kendall’s talented eye. In addition to showcasing Rosewood Miramar Beach’s luxurious and beachy ambiance, this shoot gives guests a unique souvenir they won’t soon forget—their own stunning portrait channeling California’s effortless style.

Adding to the program’s exclusive offerings, Kendall will produce a special collection inspired by Montecito and Rosewood Miramar Beach that will be available for sale at The Shop at Miramar, the property’s quintessential retail space which exclusively features a thoughtfully curated selection of signature resort wear, children’s apparel, beach toys, gifts and more. The collection will spotlight Kendall’s well-known leather goods and include some of her stand-out designs such as a Borlita Key Chain and Bossillo Zip Pouch, both pieces available in Black, White, and Cognac Napa Leather. Each product will have a hand-polished solid brass charm attached with one side displaying Rosewood Miramar Beach’s emblem and on the other side, Kendall Conrad’s moniker.

Kendall Conrad x Rosewood Miramar Beach pop-up shop

Upon the launch of Kendall’s Rosewood Miramar Beach-inspired designs, the resort will welcome guests and locals alike to an official on-property Kendall Conrad “pop-up shop” featuring items from this special capsule alongside additional selections from her larger collection of jewelry and handbags. The pop-up, available on both May 6 and 7 will be set up in the Living Room space of the property’s Manor House and will be available for shoppers to browse from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day.
