Rosewood Miramar Beach Hosts Inaugural Tree Lighting Celebration To Kick Off Holiday Season In Montecito

Rosewood Miramar Beach marked the official start of the festive season Wednesday evening with the Inaugural Miramar Tree Lighting Celebration on the resort’s Great Lawn. Over 1,800 travelers and members of the local community gathered together to enjoy a dynamic show that included memorable musical performances, the season’s first “snowfall,” the arrival of Santa, a spectacular light show and the lighting of the magnificent 60-foot Christmas tree. Before the show, families enjoyed holiday-themed activities and complimentary seasonal treats around the estate.

The evening’s festivities were attended by Kevin Costner, Jon Hamm, celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson, beauty innovator and entrepreneur Cassandra Grey, fashion designer Charlotte Ronson, Santa Barbara County Supervisor Das Williams and Caruso Founder & CEO Rick Caruso. Guests were welcomed by Spectrum News 1 anchors Giselle Fernandez and Melvin Robert who introduced “American Idol” alum Pia Toscano to perform the National Anthem. She was later joined onstage by Manor Bar resident soul artist, Brandon Wattz, for a duet of holiday classic “Let It Snow.” Acclaimed singer-songwriter Nate Ruess headlined the show and performed megahits including “We Are Young” and “Carry On” to the joyful crowd. The show concluded with a surprise appearance by Santa Claus himself who arrived in time to light the 60-foot Christmas tree as Jason McGee & The Choir performed “Celebration” onstage.

The Rosewood Miramar Beach Christmas tree is one of the largest displays in the country, towering over the picturesque Great Lawn and featuring more than 7,000 sparkling lights complemented by an assortment of 6,000 custom ornaments. After the holidays, the stunning tree’s branches and trunk will be recycled for mulch and firewood respectively with 10 new white fir trees planted in its place.
