Rosewood Sand Hill Launches Exclusive Summer Pop-Up in Partnership with The Botanist Gin
This summer, Rosewood Sand Hill, the luxury hotel in Menlo Park, California, is partnering with acclaimed spirits brand The Botanist Gin to create an exclusive greenhouse-inspired pop-up bar featuring creative cocktails that celebrate California’s rich produce with locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.
“We are thrilled to offer our guests refuge from the summer heat at the greenhouse pop-up in collaboration with The Botanist Gin,” “The brand’s commitment to using locally-sourced botanicals found in Scotland perfectly complements the focus of Madera - the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant - on creating stunning dishes that celebrate ingredients native to the Bay Area.”
Philip Meyer, Managing Director of Rosewood Sand Hill
Surrounded by greenery and delicate summer blossoms endemic to the region, guests can sip on a selection of the pop-up’s 16 seasonally-inspired cocktails, carefully crafted using local ingredients. Guests are also invited to choose their own garnishes using provincial botanicals and fresh herbs placed on each table as a centerpiece, adding local flavors that elevate each cocktail with unique, California-inspired flair whilst celebrating the singular tastes of The Botanist Gin.
Hand-crafted and distilled on the Scottish island of Islay, The Botanist uses 22 hand-foraged botanicals to create an elegantly smooth and versatile gin that pairs beautifully with local and seasonal flavors. Rosewood Sand Hill’s expert bar and culinary staff have similarly used their extensive knowledge of regional produce to curate bespoke cocktail and small bites menus that showcase the subtle flavors of The Botanist Gin, to be served exclusively in the summer greenhouse. Guests can expect unique drinks such as “Plant Key,” which combines the delicate botanical flavors of The Botanist Gin with lemon verbena hydrosol for a punchy cocktail with floral undertones.
To complement the exclusive cocktail menu, a range of small bites will also be available, specially created for the greenhouse by the expert culinary team at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Madera. Featuring dishes like yellowtail ceviche tostadas with creamy California avocado and freshly-made pizza with decadent toppings like braised pork shoulder and chipotle aioli, the greenhouse’s small plate menu matches the pop-up’s cocktail offerings in celebrating local ingredients and regional cuisine.
