Rosewood Washington, D.C. - reopening press release

Georgetown’s leading luxury hotel to reopen with six new and private townhouse accommodations and enhanced health and safety protocols

Released 5 November 2020

Rosewood Washington, D.C., the luxurious urban retreat located in the heart of Georgetown, is pleased to announce plans to reopen on November 23, 2020 to unveil the hotel’s highly anticipated townhouse accommodations, as well as inspired programming and enhanced health and safety protocols. CUT D.C., the hotel’s signature restaurant and an exciting evolution of Wolfgang Puck’s CUT concept, will also reopen on November 23, as will CUT Bar.

“We are delighted to be reopening our doors and welcoming back our guests and neighbors to enjoy the extraordinary service and experience that Rosewood Washington, D.C. has become known for,”

Gabor L

Vida, managing director of Rosewood Washington, D.C. “Over the past several months, we have been working to introduce new programming and protocols that reflect how people are traveling and visiting today, with the health and safety of our guests and associates remaining the utmost priority. We’re especially excited to be introducing our new townhouses, which provide the ultimate in secluded city stays and afford visitors with the comforts of a private home combined with the amenities of an ultra-luxury hotel. These unique accommodations not only offer an unparalleled look into the life of a D.C. city dweller, but also the added layer of security that many are currently seeking, making them incredibly well-positioned to fulfill the needs of today’s travelers.”

Built in the 1700s and situated directly adjacent to the hotel along a picturesque, tree-lined street, the six townhouses offer an entirely unique guest experience unavailable anywhere else in the city. Each stretching approximately 1,100 square feet over four floors, the one-bedroom accommodations have been expertly brought to life by renowned and locally based residential designer Thomas Pheasant, who infused many D.C.-inspired design elements into the architecture and interiors of the distinctive spaces. Inclusive of private entrances, outdoor patios, fully equipped kitchens and lower-level laundry rooms, and located in close proximity to the capital city’s most iconic attractions and establishments, the townhouses allow guests to experience life as the locals do while simultaneously benefitting from added services such as chef-cooked meals, personalized pantry stocking and unlimited access to the property’s gym and rooftop pool.

Upon reopening, the hotel’s 55 guestrooms, suites and townhouses, along with CUT D.C. and CUT Bar, will operate in accordance with the guidelines put in place by local, state and national authorities, as well as with Rosewood Hotel Group’s brand-wide health and safety program, Commitment to Care. Guided by leading health experts including the World Health Organization (WHO) and third-party partners at Ecolab and Diversey, Commitment to Care offers heightened standards for safety and sanitation to ensure the well-being of guests, associates and the community at large. This includes the increased cleaning and disinfecting of common areas and touch points, regular renewal of all air filters and air conditioning systems and implementation of physical distancing protocols. All associates will undergo mandatory health and safety training and receive personal protective equipment to be worn while on property, and guest rooms will be equipped with personal care kits comprised of face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes to be used as guests’ discretion. Additionally, Rosewood Washington, D.C. will cater to the individual preferences of each guest with alternative, contactless options for check-in and check-out, in-room dining, parking and housekeeping, ensuring the maximum level of comfort and safety.
