Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, the top boutique hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, today announces its participation in National Literacy Month. The new initiatives, which will benefit local schools and students, continue to demonstrate the hotel’s commitment to meeting its corporate social responsibility through operations that encourage engagement from both guests and hotel associates.
“At Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, we understand that education is an essential and empowering platform for children,” said Lutz Arnhold, managing director of Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. “As a part of the hospitality industry, we recognize that people serve as the hearts and souls of every community, and we hope that we can inspire positive change for future generations through our efforts at promoting childhood literacy.”
As part of National Literacy Month, hotel associates, local authors and storytellers will host special fireside readings at the Library, located on the main floor of Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. Students, teachers and families of hotel associates are encouraged to gather at the hotel to enjoy engaging storytelling and children’s book reading sessions, as well as gourmet cookies and hot cocoa.
For the entire month of September, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi will also serve as a drop-off location for book donations. All books accepted during this period will be donated to children in underserved communities by Opportunity Santa Fe, an organization aims to uplift the local community by educating and providing opportunities for the city’s youth.
Lastly, associates from Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi will volunteer at local elementary schools throughout September in support of National Literacy Month. During this time, associates will work with teachers and educators to address the needs of local second and third graders and conduct book readings to encourage the development of early childhood literacy.
In addition to supporting National Literacy Month, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi partners with Room to Read, a global organization promoting literacy and educational equity in developing countries, to fund and provide educational opportunities for young women around the world. These programs are a testament to Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi’s continued dedication to supporting the local community and giving back to guests through charitable deeds.
