Rosewood London unveils 'Monet-Inspired Art Afternoon Tea'
Rosewood London invites guests to step into the world of Claude Monet with the launch of its Monet Art Afternoon Tea. Curated by Executive Pastry Chef Mark Perkins, the experience is inspired by the artist’s iconic garden at Giverny, his celebrated Water Lilies series and his distinctive use of light, colour and texture. Reimagining Impressionist principles through refined savoury and sweet creations, the experience is also available in a particularly poignant year and cultural milestone, as 2026 marks 100 years since Monet’s death, making this immersive offering a fitting tribute to his enduring legacy.
“Our Art Afternoon Tea at Rosewood London has always been about storytelling through flavour and design. With the Monet Art Afternoon Tea, we wanted to capture the romance, delicacy and artistry of Monet’s world – from the blossoms of Giverny to the soft reflections of his Water Lilies, and translate that into an immersive culinary experience.”

AN ELEVATED AFTERNOON TEA
The menu elevates the traditional afternoon tea with a carefully curated selection of refined savouries and pastries. Guests will begin with a series of elegant bites, including a Baked Camembert Custard Tart, Lobster & Prawn Profiterole; Roast Chicken with baby gem lettuce and tarragon-infused mayonnaise in an onion seed bun; Egg & Mayonnaise with King’s Imperial Caviar on brioche; and Cured Salmon with crème fraîche, cucumber ribbon and trout roe.
The second course offers a delicate tribute to Monet’s own garden. The Jasmine Tea Cream, is a floral and oolong tea-infused set cream layered with sliced strawberries, strawberry jelly and finished with delicate petals. This is served alongside Lemon and Vanilla Madeleines, a timeless French pastry.
THE FINALE: THE ART CAKES
The grand finale arrives in the form of three signature Art Cakes, each designed to take guests on a journey through Monet’s celebrated masterpieces. The Water Lily Pond (1899) – Pistachio and Cherry Blossom cake draws inspiration from his beloved Water Lilies series and favourite cake, the gâteau vert, layering pistachio sweet paste, pistachio feuillatine and pistachio sponge with morello and Griottine cherry jelly infused with cherry blossom. Finished with whipped pistachio ganache, matcha-inspired chocolate detailing and an ivoire chocolate water lily.
Impression, Sunrise (1872) – Peach Melba is a strikingly composed cake offering a visual and flavour-led tribute to the painting that defined Impressionism, combining almond sponge, yellow peach and vanilla jelly, Madagascan vanilla mousse and raspberry gel, all encased in a chocolate-brushed frame that mirrors the soft glow of sunrise over Le Havre.
Meanwhile, Woman with a Parasol (1875) – Apricot and Rosemary is a delicately layered cake referencing Monet’s portrayal of his wife Camille and their son Jean, bringing together vanilla madeleine sponge, rosemary white chocolate namelaka, apricot vanilla jelly and apricot mousse, finished with tea-infused whipped ganache, pistachio crumb and a refined green chocolate parasol.
To complement the menu, the Mirror Room has curated a refined selection of premium teas, highlighting floral and botanical notes that echo the artist’s garden. Guests may also elevate their experience with a champagne pairing.
Designed to echo the serenity and splendour of Monet’s garden, Rosewood London’s Art Afternoon Tea invites guests to immerse themselves in Impressionism through taste, texture and artistry.
