Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® has appointed Philip Meyer as managing director of Rosewood Sand Hill, the ultra-luxury hotel in Menlo Park, California. In his new role, Meyer will oversee and lead all facets of the prestigious property, including the Michelin-starred signature restaurant Madera and Sense, A Rosewood Spa®.
Meyer brings over 30 years of luxury hospitality experience to his new role at Rosewood Sand Hill. Most recently, Meyer served as managing director of Rosewood Hotel Georgia, where he spearheaded the debut of Prohibition and the redesign and relaunch of Reflections: The Garden Terrace, now known as two of the most popular establishments to drink and dine in Vancouver. Under his leadership, Rosewood Hotel Georgia also received coveted accolades from publications including Travel + Leisure, Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report and U.S. News and World Report. During his tenure, the hotel also achieved a Forbes 5-Star Rating. Prior to joining Rosewood Hotel Georgia in 2015, Meyer served as the general manager of Wedgewood Hotel and Spa in Vancouver for 17 years. Meyer also held the role of general manager at several boutique hotels including Sherwood Inn in Ontario, Horsted Place in Little Horsted and The Goring Hotel in London.

A native of Kent, England, Meyer is an avid cyclist. His passion led him to serve as director of the Georgia Cycling Team, where he organized cycling events to raise funds and awareness for cancer research in British Columbia in his leisure time.
