PRESS RELEASES
December 10, 2019
This winter season, Rosewood Sand Hill, the luxury hotel in Menlo Park, California, has transformed its Lounge Terrace into a festive Winter Lodge. Inspired by the lush trees and mountains that surround the Northern California hotel, along with a traditional winter après ski ambiance, the pop up provides guests and locals alike a cozy place to enjoy seasonal cocktails and warming winter fare by the bartenders and chefs of the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Madera.
The Winter Lodge evokes a winter wonderland feel, boasting festive décor reminiscent of a log cabin. Complete with wood paneled walls, chic fur pillows and throws, whitetail antler chandeliers and large windows showcasing the views of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the seasonal pop up is open until February 29, 2020.
“We are excited to once again offer our guests a cozy antidote to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season,” said Philip Meyer, Managing Director of Rosewood Sand Hill. “The Winter Lodge allows guests to enjoy the warmth and serenity of a mountainside ski chalet with friends and family without the slushy cold and travel of actually going there.”
The menu at the Winter Lodge offers libations and light bites sure to evoke the feeling of holiday spirit. Guests can sip on a selection of 15 hand-crafted cocktails, including the wintertime inspired Smitten Mittens mixed with Michter’s Rye, St. George Spiced Pear liqueur, Fernet-Branca, roasted pecan and maple; and the Apple of My Eye made with Remy Martin VSOP, Massenez Crème de Pomme Verte, vanilla, cinnamon, citrus, egg, white, and topped with Moët & Chandon champagne. To complete the cocktail menu, the expert culinary team at Rosewood Sand Hill has also curated a menu of small bites that celebrate the flavors of the season, featuring Liberty Farms Duck Meatballs with mission fig glaze; Fried Brussel Sprouts glazed with Noble Bourbon Barrel maple; and the winter-staple Fondue with Gruyere + Emmenthaler, fingerling potatoes and pretzel bread.
