Rosewood São Paulo Launches Its Own Red Wine, Muvuca

Label celebrating diversity is created in partnership with local producers

JANUARY 26, 2026

Rosewood São Paulo presents Muvuca, its exclusive red wine developed in partnership with Casa Tés winery, located in the countryside of São Paulo state. The result of a collective process, the label involved different areas of the hotel — from gastronomy to marketing and social impact — and celebrates Brazilian diversity at its core, reflected both in its name and in its sensory profile.

The idea emerged from a conversation between Julia Derado, Wine Director at Rosewood São Paulo, and Fernando Bouzan, chef at the helm of Blaise, the restaurant that embodies a producer-driven gastronomic philosophy, combining Brazilian ingredients with French techniques. From the outset, the goal was to create an original, house wine capable of dialoguing seamlessly with the hotel’s culinary offering and, in particular, with Blaise’s artisanal charcuterie.

Although conceived through this close relationship with the restaurant, Muvuca is not limited to it. The wine will be served across all gastronomic venues at Rosewood São Paulo. Versatile and well-balanced, it was designed to accompany different moments at the table, maintaining freshness and precision even alongside more intense flavors.

“We considered the smoky notes, the presence of nuts and chestnuts in some preparations, and the richer fat content of the charcuterie. This combination called for a wine with greater freshness and balance, capable of harmonizing without overpowering. From there, we explored different aromatic styles and flavor structures.”
-Julia Derado, Wine Director, Rosewood São Paulo

This process led the hotel team to collaborate closely with the professionals at Casa Tés in a joint creation guided by layers, complementarity, and identity. The wine’s name reflects this collective spirit: Muvuca originally refers to a mix of seeds of different types, colors, and sizes that, together, give rise to new land — a metaphor for the diversity of people, talents, and perspectives that brought the label to life.

The narrative is also expressed visually. The label illustration was created by urban artist Senk, a figurative painter with family roots in Minas Gerais, a region close to the winery, reinforcing the connection between territory, art, and production.

To compose Muvuca, three red grape varieties were selected — Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah — harvested in different vintages and aged in different barrels to enhance complexity. Syrah contributes freshness and vibrancy; Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in second-use barrels, adds structure and subtle smoky notes; and Cabernet Franc, matured in first-use barrels, offers depth, elegance, and additional aromatic layers. The result is a vibrant, authentic, and expressive wine that reflects Brazilian terroir and celebrates the diversity of the country’s culture.

Muvuca will be sold exclusively at Rosewood São Paulo for BRL 290 and can be enjoyed at the hotel’s restaurants or purchased to take home.
