Designed by NICOLEHOLLIS, the newly reimagined spaces offer a home-like experience for luxury travelers seeking elevated privacy and personalization

Released 14 May 2025

MENLO PARK | MAY 14, 2025 – Today, Rosewood Sand Hill—the luxurious urban retreat in the heart of Silicon Valley—enthusiastically announces the grand opening of its collection of renovated Residential Villas, thoughtfully designed for discerning guests seeking extended stays, enhanced privacy, and the comforts of home. Blending immersive design with personalized experiences, the villas feature a full chef’s kitchen, private laundry facilities, and expansive private yards. The transformation also includes a refreshed Presidential Villa, Summit House—an expansive three-bedroom residence ideal for shorter stays—featuring an open-plan layout and sweeping views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Designed by the acclaimed interior architecture and design firm NICOLEHOLLIS, the villas reflect Northern California’s natural beauty and the resort’s 16-acre, Mediterranean-style grounds, offering guests the rare experience of a private estate within a fully serviced resort.

“Our reimagined villas feature distinct personalities, thoughtfully curated experiences, and immersive design inspired by the Bay Area’s natural beauty and cultural richness,” said Philip Meyer, Regional Vice President & Managing Director. “These villas are more than a place to stay—they’re a reason to return. Whether guests come for a quiet retreat, a creative reset, or a family celebration, they’ll discover a villa that speaks to their lifestyle and invites them to make it their own.”

A Collection of Individualized Villa Experiences

Each of the five Residential Villas—Ridge House, Redwood House, Verde House, Orchard House, and Valley House—is a fully self-contained sanctuary with its own aesthetic, mood, and curated experiences. Offering two- and three-bedroom layouts, they are ideal for extended stays, multigenerational travel, or intimate gatherings.

Each villa’s personality is further distinguished through curated lifestyle programming and artisan accents:

  • Ridge House: Overlooks the Santa Cruz Mountains and features floor-to-ceiling windows, a vaulted ceiling, and curated wine experiences, inspired by Ridge Vineyards.

  • Redwood House: Channels the redwood forest’s earthy calm with organic materials and a warm, minimalist aesthetic, and includes thoughtful touches like a seasonal farmer’s market basket and trail-ready provisions.

  • Verde House: Brings wellness to the forefront with its indoor-outdoor flow, yoga-ready spaces, and floral workshops.

  • Orchard House: Nestled among citrus trees, Orchard House celebrates California’s citrus legacy with a private juicing station, aromatherapy, and artisan activities.

  • Valley House: Caters to creative professionals with a tech-enabled office, espresso bar, immersive VR tour, and inspiring design that balances work and leisure.

Inside, the villas feature chef’s kitchens, private laundry facilities, expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces, and custom furnishings designed by NICOLEHOLLIS. Warm, tactile materials like walnut wood flooring, hand-applied taupe plaster walls, and Calacatta Antica marble fireplaces wrapped in oiled larch wood are layered with deep green cabinetry, ceramic backsplashes, and woven rattan details. Lighting, developed in collaboration with California designer Brendan Ravenhill, features metal and wood grain finishes that quietly elevate each room.

Throughout the villas, a curated art program by Sweeney Co. includes commissioned works from Bay Area artists, using ceramics, textiles, and hand-crafted installations to reflect the regional landscape and character. In the powder rooms, custom etched wallcoverings and marble-carved sinks echo the nearby hills, offering beauty in even the smallest details.

Outdoors, each villa’s landscape—designed by Arterra Landscape Architects—has been reimagined as an immersive retreat, with native plantings, sculptural water features, hanging daybeds, and secluded seating areas that offer beauty, privacy, and sustainability in equal measure.

Summit House: A Bespoke Private Escape in the Heart of Silicon Valley

At the pinnacle of the property, the newly renovated Presidential Villa, Summit House, offers the ultimate in luxury and privacy. Spanning 3,236 square feet, this expansive three-bedroom suite features panoramic views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and expansive living spaces, a backyard terrace, and custom furnishings that create an atmosphere of quiet sophistication and grandeur, ideal for intimate gatherings or restful solitude. Programming can be customized to each guest’s stay, including private yoga or guided meditation sessions, or the delivery of a seasonal market basket. "We were excited to highlight the true essence of California living,” said Nicole Hollis, Creative Director and Principal of NICOLEHOLLIS” With stunning views of the Santa Cruz Mountains, we collaborated closely with Arterra, the landscape designer, to seamlessly blend the interior and outdoor spaces. Each villa now features a unique layout and thoughtfully designed planting approach, transforming once-underutilized areas into beautiful outdoor alcoves perfect for entertaining and relaxation." These new spaces are redefining luxury in Silicon Valley, offering a modern clubhouse experience and a welcoming ambiance that feels like a home away from home, where design, nature, and well-being come together in perfect harmony. Complementing the refreshed villas is the newly introduced Asaya Spa, an integrative wellness destination that deepens the resort’s commitment to holistic rejuvenation.
