A key initiative of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts is known as Rosewood Impacts, a purpose-driven commitment to positively affect not only the people who they serve, but the environments in which they operate. The effect is a unique approach to hospitality that is circular, collaborative, and ultimately, sustainable.

Rosewood Phuket signature restaurant  is helmed by local married couple Uncle Nun and Aunt Yai and sources 100% of ingredients locally, with many coming from Ta Khai’s own organic herb and vegetable garden.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT TA KHAI?

Repurposed materials create a rustic Thai village ambience with ocean views and the stage for a responsibly sourced Thai menu. We partner with local farmers and producers, personally handpicked by us, to reduce their and the resort’s carbon footprint.

WHAT ARE ROSEWOOD’S SUSTAINABILITY STANDARDS?

Rosewood is incredibly passionate about progressing the hospitality industry into a more sustainable space with Rosewood Sustains. The intention of this project is to set a new standard. Rosewood Phuket’s wider commitment to help its natural environment include a net-zero approach to water usage, food composting, an energy-efficient building design, energy conservation and renewable energy harvesting, efforts which have earned the resort a LEED Gold verification for its sustainable achievements - one of Thailand's first hotels to earn this certification.

"Eco-conscious guests will value our care for this setting."

- Andrew Turner, Managing Director

WHAT IS ON THE RESORT AND HOW HAS IT BEEN ENGINEERED?

Rosewood Phuket features other innovative sustainability measures that both enhance the guest experience and result in cost savings to the resort.  The extensive use of windows throughout public and private areas means that the majority of building interiors receive direct natural light, thus reducing electricity needed for artificial light and creating a healthier, more pleasant indoor environment.  In addition, a good quantity of building rooftops are covered by gardens which not only keep buildings naturally cooler, but provide green views towards the ocean for guests, complementing the beachfront forest surroundings.
