This November, Kona Village welcomes Hiroyasu Kayama of Tokyo's Bar BenFiddich for a special pop-up at Shipwreck Bar & Sushi and Talk Story Bar. Guests will enjoy exclusive cocktail specials inspired by Hawai`i's seasonal ingredients, produce grown at our on-site farm Kahiko Māla`ai, and Kayama's signature "Roots to Glass" philosophy.
Founded in Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood in 2013, Bar BenFiddich is an intimate cocktail bar led by owner-bartender Hiroyasu Kayama. Known for its "Roots to Glass" philosophy, Kayama draws inspiration from the botanicals, herbs, fruits, and other ingredients cultivated on his family's ancestral land in Saitama, Japan, blending generations of heritage with a deep respect for seasonality and craftsmanship. Join Hiroyasu Kayama aboard our restored schooner as he takes the helm behind the bar at Shipwreck Bar & Sushi. Inspired by Hawai`i's local ingredients and produce from Kahiko Māla`ai, this menu of specialty cocktails will showcase Kayama's celebrated farm-driven approach, alongside select non-alcoholic creations. Guests may also enjoy Shipwreck Bar & Sushi's signature menu.
This experience is open to both resort guests and the local community. Please note that Shipwreck Bar & Sushi does not accept reservations.

Hiroyasu Kayama returns for a second evening, this time at Talk Story Bar with a fresh selection of cocktails. Connect with Hiroyasu over sunset cocktails in an intimate setting steps from Kahuwai Bay. Talk Story Bar's signature menu will also be available.
